Oh, I see, you're referring to the backup point I made. The vortexbox
backup to USB option works just fine. I just don't bother with it. 
I've setup my network with all gigabit switches, etc. and my laptop and
VBA is gigabit. When doing the backup I plug the laptop in to a switch
(so it is direct ethernet) and I recall it takes only 6 or 7 hours to
copy about 70,000+ files. Set it to copy before going to bed, and all
done in the morning.  And I only do a full backup once every few
months. I manage stuff in between with incremental copies of my new
music to all my various backup places....
