[...] So, my conclusion is: if you back up your ~/.openoffice.org2/ folder, install OOo 3.0 and allow 'Transfer personal data' you will indeed find your added words that you've put in your standard.dic in your new OOo 3.0. Further, OOo 3.0 will _not_ overwrite your ~/.openoffice.org2/ directory, and will instead create it's own ~/.openoffice.org directory.
