Interesting to think that nobody has this problem before.
Some of the table properties would be in conflict (most
notably column width, probably), so I doubt that there's any
supported way to do this.
I don't see why not. Either use the same behavior as when the
table width forcefully reduced, or use the behaviour when the
margin is reduced (table may expand beyond the margin). That
said, seems this need to become a feature request. I'll submit
that into the issue tracker.
A complex table like what you're describing might be better
linked to as an external object, though I haven't yet tried
that.
I tried DDE link, does not work. DDE link stripped table layout.
Or, if it doesn't have to be modifiable, it could be made into
a graphic and inserted that way.
The table should not only modifiable, but adjust its own width
to the width of the cell (the table width is automatic).
Otherwise, I think you'd have to create an appropriate table
structure within the cell, make any necessary property
adjustments for widths, heights, and borders, and then copy
the contents.
:-( really don't want to do that, especially with all merged
cell.
Not sure about the scripting possibilities, I have no
experience with that.
Hmm, I'll try to change the XML manually first. It is XML
anyway.
