I understand that but the limitation (inability to modify the original email that then makes it to the list) is the way that the list manager does moderation (further on that below). If it's not the case, then OOo list administrators/moderators/collab.net et al need to put their heads together and figure out a way to place a [moderated] tag in the subject line so that subscribed users don't continue to waste their time responding. Or if they do respond, then they can easily cc the unsubscribed if they wish. And that may be what needs to happen, and probably, has already in the past. I'm not 100% sure of where the road block is, however we can only keep on asking. /paul
