It's clear that ezmin changes the Subject line (for our list, it tacks "[users]" on the front) and it's fairly easy to control what it puts there.
As Brian has explained, though, ezmin doesn't seem to offer a way to make that change dependent on whether the user is subscribed. A surprising limitation, perhaps, but that's the problem.
