Well... when you come up with the link then perhaps we can figure out what exactly provides the prefix [moderated] tag. However, this would suggest to me that subject prefixes *can* be added by the list administrator: <http://www.openoffice.org/scdocs/ProjectOwnerMailingLists.html.en> <http://www.openoffice.org/scdocs/ProjectOwnerMailingLists.html.en#mailadmin> and that a footer/trailer can be added/modified as well. Perhaps if nothing else an unsubscribed trailer can be added. >http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/Search?artifact=issuezilla+issue&query=moderated&resultsPerPage=40&scope=domain> <http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/Search?artifact=issuezilla+issue&query=unsubscribed&resultsPerPage=40&scope=domain> These might be of interest to someone: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=18731 [Unsubscribed user should be added in reply-to field] http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=6286 [Auto-reply warning for users who are not subscribed to a mailing list] <quote> ------- Additional comments from noop Mon Sep 24 16:18:59 +0000 2007 ------- I believe that the original proposal to provide a msg to the unsubscribed poster is a good one. In addition, I propose that *all* unsubscribed messages be tagged with "[Moderated]" at the start of the subject line. Currently on the [email protected] list many unsubscribed posts are not tagged as such, while some are. This creates a situation whereby those of us that assist new/unsubscribed posters are required to look at each header before responding to see if needs to be cc'd in the reply. This places an unnecessary burden on list responders who are voluntarily spending time assisting OOo. The situation becomes even more burdensome for those responders that read and respond via the gmane news server as many popular newsreaders (Thunderbird for example) are not capable of filtering on headers such as: Delivered-To: moderator for [email protected] There is considerable debate as to whether unsubscribed messages should even be allowed, one which most likely will not be resolved any time soon. However, if unsubscribed postings are to allowed, then the [Moderated] tag should be added to *all* unsubscribed postings. ------- Additional comments from pintooo15 Wed Sep 26 05:51:18 +0000 2007 ------- unsubscribed users should be allowed. getting people looking for help to subscribe is not in the list admins' control. setting the list to append "moderated" text to unsubscribed poster's email/post is very much _is_. ------- Additional comments from Jeeva Guru Mon Jan 19 12:08:57 +0000 2009 ------- In the new Discussion Services, the replacement for mailing lists since CEE5.0, users who are not member of a project/mailing list will receive a warning mail when attempted to post to the mailing list where they do not have access to. -Jeeva CollabNet Support ------- Additional comments from Jeeva Guru Mon Jan 19 12:10:11 +0000 2009 ------- Marking this Reolved/Fixed per CollabNet's policy as the feature is available in Discussion Services, the replacement of mailing lists since CEE5.0. -Jeeva CollabNet Support </quote> --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
