To all:
Just got back home from my local Target store, as I needed to do some shopping for my
upcoming trip to Europe. I picked up a Gillette package, which included a Mach 3
razor, a 25 ml vile of skin lotion and a 75 ml can of shaving gel. I could not see
the volumes on the bottles themselves, as they were behind a label. Yet the packaging
itself included these volumes in fl.oz. (ml) format. First of all, it is the first
time, that Gillette uses rational SI in its products. Second, shaving gel cans'
volume has never been in ml, but rather mass was expressed in oz. (g). Third of all,
on the back of the package, it gave some warning notes on the heat exposure,
cautioning not to expose to heat over 50 degrees C (using a degree symbol...how do you
do that again?). No conversion to F at all!!! Only English was used throughout the
package, so it is intended for sale in the U.S., I suppose. It was made in the U.S.
as well.
Another item of business, Catherine and I went to Seattle and Vancouver, BC last
month. One night we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in SeaTac. Besides being a
nice hotel, we were provided with a free continental breakfast in the morning. A
small package of "Country Churn Whipped Spread" attracted my attention. The mass on
the package stated: "Net Wt 5g". Nothing else. It is manufactured by Alliant
Foodservice, Inc. Deerfield, IL 60015, USA. Thought I would provide an address in
case somebody would like to send them kudos.
Cheers,
Nick
