Tom,
Outstanding !! ... finding the carbs unseated, (boy !! I've never done
that before ... yea ... right !!). I always lube those boots up with
silicone grease now ... everytime I take the stack off ... keeps the
rubber from rotting/drying out and makes a tremendous difference when
you have to pop the stack off or put it back.

Yes ... there are supposed to be little o-rings with the pilot mixture
screws ....... but I have two myself that never seem to want to come
out ... if I look in the hole I can see their smashed little bodies
stuck in there ... so there they stay ..... If the heads on the pilot
screws start looking bad you can get a kit that has the screw, spring,
washer and o-ring ... one kit per carb - Yomama part - 12R-14105-00-00
...PILOT SCREW SET; and should cost about $10 each ...

One and one half on the mixture screw is not really normal ... but
very likely from the factory. Just turn each one in till you notice
that the cylinder isn't participating any more and then back it out
1/2 turn ... If you turn one in all the way and the bike doesn't even
notice then you need to blow that one out some more because it is
still plugged up. I would suspect you are going to end up in the 2-3
turn vicinity. If all the mixture screws seem to adjust up OK and you
are still weak off idle ... take the lid off the airbox and try to
hold the bike between 1500 and 1800 RPM ... if you are really lean you
will be getting some popping, (little pre-ignition backfires). With
the top off ... you can tell which cylinder is responsible .... give
the screw on that cylinder a 1/4 turn at a time until you get this
popping to stop ... if you can't resolve this with the screw then you
will have to do some other things .. but that is of no concern at this
time.

Having the stock jets are not a big deal .... the size of the hole in
the stock Mikuni 152.5 main jet falls right in between the DJ160 and
DJ165 ... (is almost identical to the 165) that comes with the Dynojet
kits ... so there is little need to change these jets out unless you
do something really significant to the bike ...
