Your right about keeping it simple. I guess after using all types of rive=

Just an FYI.

Looks like some high profile people (Ralph Lauren) are pushing the price
envelop on vintage Airstreams. $150,000 for a Caravel or Bambi! WOW!

I posted a thread on this topic at:

And if one of us did that much to our Caravel or Bambi, the VAC group
wouldn't even talk to us at the next gathering, and would rate the unit
as trashed.

Rhino Spay in. Bout $300 and worth the $$$. Its part of the truck and
it doesn't trap water and rust out your truck bed.

Oliver,

I have a sprayed-on (zolatone) bed liner and a flat rubber mat in my pickup.
Nothing damages the bed, and the bed damages nothing that is put in it. The
mat also keeps things from sliding around.

You are welcome.

Any of you folks know what a 1949 Trailwind would be worth today? The
exterior is in great shape. The interior is gutted. The floor is solid but
sloping at the tail.

You can see pictures at: http://www.airstreamvacations.com/48/index.htm
(It's currently listed as a '48--my bad.)

Any ideas you have would be great! Thanks.

Airstream started in the 30's and there are trailers from that time period

Oliver
It you don't mind the cost (at least of having someone else do the work),=
then a sprayed in liner is the way to go.
The plastic type such as Duro-Liner lets everything slide around, plus th=
ey are a fire hazard.
If you have one of these it's recommended to not fill gas cans while the =
are in the bed due to static electricity and possibly causing a fire. Plu=
s it is recommended to remove the bed liner once every three to six month=
s (depending on manufacture) to clean and wax under it to prevent rust. A=
lso removal will take 4 people to remove correctly without causing damage=
 to the liner.
If your more of a do it yourself type, NAPA sells a kit for a spray in be=
d liner for about $100.00. You can even roll it on if you like though I w=
ouldn't recommend it. I've sprayed it and it works great.
