Ah.  Of this, I was not aware.  It's an … interesting policy.  Given those
constraints, I'd probably have done the same thing (though maybe advocated
going with beta4, which was far less crash-happy).

Heh heh.  I'd want to take the opportunity to say how awesome it is that an
active, rolling source-based distro like Gentoo doesn't need such a policy
*and* doesn't have such an issue … but it's probably best just to say that
Gentoo doesn't have policies. :)
