Thanks for responding Richard. I guess, since up'ing from dapper, my 
mis-understanding lies in
believing that stopping support != removing the repos; i.e. leaving what's in 
place but just
not actively working on them any more.
Just like i can still get FC4 or Cent4 stuff, despite those releases falling by 
the wayside.

I think, after reading this thread, that i'll wait until hardy (LTR) is 
released and just suffer in meantime.
