Also, you might want to have a look at AK Best's Advanced Fly tying.
There's a chapter in there about organizing a travel kit.  From what I
recall of his portable inventory, it seemed like he might be traveling a
little too heavy to lug the stuff to streamside, but he mentioned some
materials that I wouldn't have ever thought of bringing and how some of
them can serve a double purpose.
