Many of the bead head flies handle like small
jigs..perhaps these would work. It is also very possible to tie a fly by putting
a split shot on a piece of mono, tying the mono on the hook by the head of the
fly. Then, build the fly, bring the mono with the split shot up over the top of
the fly and tie it down. Then it will ride as a point up jig.(or bring the split
shot under the fly and it will ride hook down). Be sure to use a long enough
hook, if you do this, that the split shot won't get in the way of hookup of the
