Out this way, on the wet side of the of Washington, poachers are known to use
jigs on the end of a fly line to catch steelhead in fly fishing waters.

Jigs and bobbers have become well known for steelhead spin and casting
fishermen to use. They are very effecient at catching fish.

Its now illegal on that river (North Fork Stillaguamish) to use weighted
flies, to block the use of jigs.

Consequently jigs on a fly rod makes me quite upset about poaching, and proper
fly fishing.

One reason Paul caught more fish than anyone else was that he had his flies in
the water more than
anyone else. "Brother," he would say, "there areno flying fish in Montana.
Out here, you can't
catch fish with your flies in the air."
