Asad,

The fuel pump for the post '73 alternator angles to the left (away from the 
alternator).
The carb linkage I was referring to was on the stock 34-PICT-3 carb not duel 
carbs.
The linkage on the right side (accelerator pump) is different on the alternator 
equipped
beetles so it doesn't interfere with the alternator.
