Mary, Are you referring to either the second or third gen Apple TV? If so, I can't imagine why you would be getting choppy speech. We have 2 of the second gen and 1 of the third gen all on the same WiFi network and I have never gotten choppy speech on any of them. Wonder if it might be a bad WiFi connectivity issue?

It seemed worse when using the remote app, but since I have issues getting the little remote to do what I want, I'm apparently not pointing it precisely correctly, I was really hoping to make the remote app work so as to ditch that finicky remote.
