Hello Cheryl, I strongly suspect that the asymmetry you are experiencing has something to do with the Windows Registry. Strangely enough, I recently experienced a similar phenomenon on my Windows 7 machine. It drove me crazy for three days. Finally, because of some fuzzy-logic, on my part, some out-of-the-box thinking of some of my friends, and a great deal of Google searches, oh yes, and a prayer, I was able to get everything working without having to wipe my system.
My advice is to just accept what is and leave it alone if you want to continue to use iTunes 11.4.
