I also find my touch screen on iPhone XS becoming unresponsive at random 
moments using iOS 12.0.1 - and my sighted wife reported the same problem on her 
iPhone X yesterday. So, it cannot just be a voiceover issue but might just be 
an iOS 12 bug?
