I think you and I are talking about different posted lakes.  

The one(s) you mentioned:
"The "no trespassing" lake wasn't close to a major transportation corridor
and
near a major energy corridor??  I fished one of those about ten years ago

noticed that it was posted after a few years.  Now when I drive past the
no trespassing signs appear to be gone?"

I heard about those 20 years ago and fished them off and on up to about 1994
and never did all that well (inspite of some stories I heard).  Well, a
friend of mine was asking me about them a couple of months ago and we're
going to try them again this spring.  I suspect that the way to do real good
on them is the standard "chronies under indicators"

The one I referred to about being posted was posted just last summer.  It's
more around Othello  than what I think you were talking about.  I will share
that info off line as I haven't had to give a blood promise on that one.
