Well, here's my 2 Bob's worth (pun intended). I used to praise Westnet for
their brilliant service - specifically, when making a service call, the
option to leave your number (while STAYING IN THE QUE) and Westnet ring you
back when it's your turn. Doing away with this appears to be just one of the
many backward changes Westnet has made since the takeover.

Just the other day, I decided to change my plan to a plan that was $20 less
per month, while remaining at the same speed. This used to take 3 or 4
clicks and be free. Now it takes many more clicks and in my frustration, I
missed the bit that said I would be changed $30 for "downgrading" my plan
(If you drive your Merc less, have you "downgraded" your car?). Also
different to before, the change of plan was effective immediately - not
mentioned at all during the process. As a result, I was shaped - with 3
weeks left in the month! Ahhhhh! I can handle a couple of days shaped but
not 3 weeks. (To think that dialup used to be MUCH slower than shaped speeds
today)

So, after spending the weekend shaped, and then 15 minutes listening to the
Westnet "advantages" when I rang accounts, they did allow me to revert back
the the plan I was on and refund the charge. It's just I can no longer
change plans freely, month to month.

I've gone from a "Westnet is the best" to "Westnet's service has taken a big
dive recently".

Cheers
Travis
