O.K. My friend did what you said below and instead of the Startup menu appearing (step 2) she came to a screen (Columbus Dermatology - where they got the computer from - used I assume) and it asked for a password. She tried typing in a password (they never had one before) and the mouse would not work. The Columbus Dermatology screen was the normal way the computer used to start but she can't go anywhere from there. Any ideas?
