uh, yeah.. but this isn't exactly something that snuck up on us. she
was approximately spherical at the time of the interview.

the work i'm having her do is organized in such a way that it can be
rolled over to another developer with little or no advance warning. at
present, i have her working on models of data storage, and deciding
what blocks of code will be necessary to build the final product. next
on the schedule will be the development and documentation of interface
specs for each code module in the product. then she'll start coding
the modules, and documenting as she goes.

within the next 3-4 weeks, i want her to start reviewing her designs
with another coder from the same agency, both as a sanity check, and
to prepare a fallback position. heaven forbid anything should go
wrong with her pregnancy, but if the OB/GYN says there's cause for
concern, we'll start switching the load over to the backup programmer
as fast as possible. the project will stay on schedule, and more
important, Anitha will be free to concentrate on having a healthy
baby.
