I too am often frustrated by clients who don't read or answer email in a
timely manner. I think it's largely a matter of differing workstyles. I am
alone most of the day and it's easy and a pleasant distraction for me to
check email frequently. Client type people usually work in groups and are
caught up in scheduled or impromptu meetings all the time. So for them,
checking email is simply another chore to squeeze into an impossible
schedule. I work around it by simply calling on the phone when I need a
quick answer. Phone calls can then be confirmed via email, "per our
conversation today I'm blah...blah...blah..."
