As a former employee of Computer Renaissance I can tell you that you
shouldn't expect much for computers, printer, parts or anything you sell to
them. Dot matrix printers are purchased at $30-45 tops and resell for
$99-149. For 2 years I argued with them to lower their prices since the
markup was running 300+ percent. Most of the stores in the Twin Cities
Metro area are overwhelmed with repair service, much of it warranty work.
Having built a system with new parts purchased from CR, the only things I
didn't need to change was the case and power supply. I even kicked one of
their mohterboard supplyers out of the store, making him take ALL of his
goods with him, after months of struggling with them. Of course, the store
manager talked him into coming back. I left there soon afterwards. It's not
esy looking a customer in the eyes and proclaiming it's good, reliable
hardware, when you know it's not.
Sorry for the rambling. The sour taste of that place remains. Even one of
my clents returned -everything- she ever bought there and went someplace
else after -all- parts failed.
