Huh? You call people "points?" I'm talking about the standard
metric for measuring software complexity, and therefore for
estimating project costs, doing scheduling and budgeting,
assigning personnel, etc. etc. How do you do a Cocomo costing
model without knowing about function points? How do you
negotiate a contract with a customer if you don't know
how much it's going to cost to develop the software?
There are books, papers, articles, tutorials, courses, and
cliff notes about this stuff. I remember an article by Jones
on FPs in Dr. Dobbs back when it was still being printed on
newspaper stock.
