Mm. This is a common but still utterly idiotic message: "To properly
enjoy this site, upgrade now to BrowserWhatever 4.0!"
Goodness. What are these people *thinking*? Or more to the point,
how little respect do they have for the intelligence and competence
of their users?
I mean, think it through. Has it ever in the history of the Web
happened that a user, upon seeing one of these messages, said to
himself: (a) "There's a new version of BrowserWhatever? Wow, I didn't
know that. I'll go get it right now. Thanks you guys!"; or (b) "Gosh.
I really really want to see this site. So I guess I'll spend the next
three hours downloading version 4.0, and another hour trying to
install it, because goldarn it, these people are right. I *am* behind
the times. Good thing they posted that message!"
Doesn't happen real often, I don't imagine...
