Hello,

>From reading I gleaned that drugstore.com is like a baby brother to
amazon.com.

It seems that amazon.com would help their little brother avoid a lot
of mistakes amazon.com made while "growing up."

amazon.com is using Digital Unix yet drugstore.com is using

> www.drugstore.com is running Microsoft-IIS/4.0 on NT4 or Windows 98

Why would amazon.com advocate the use of NT and IIS? I find this
very interesting. Why...? The only thing I can think is that they
find it "cheaper" to perhaps modify generic software rather than
write everything from scratch. I would imagine there are a lot more
"software programs" for websites written for NT than for Unix. The
microsoft visual studio seems impressive although I have never used
it (I much prefer writing code by keyboard than mouse).

Any thoughts out here?

Peter
