You're missing the manufacturers SATA drivers in the startup files.

This is normal for XP installs but one is suppose to do it from a floppy disk & they are actually installed before XP is. I'm surprised XP even installs with the wrong initial drivers that you apparently are upgrading when you install the drivers from the CD. Did you ever check the DM to see if there is a yellow exclamation next to Other Device before installing the SATA drivers? If you should happen to want to do a new install try loading the drivers via F6 when booting from the Xp Cd.

You have to extract the nVidia or SIL SATA drivers from the Gigabyte CD to a floppy disk then when installing Windows XP from the CD you need to Press F6 almost immediately to load the SATA drivers. If you don't load the drivers properly from a floppy during the install then you wind up with the situation that you now have. If I didn't do it the way I described I wouldn't be able to boot into XP's Safe Mode at all because I have no IDE HDs. The only reason I use either a floppy or zip drive as drive A on my systems but have built many client systems without a floppy drive by client request because they want to save the $10.
