Hi Andy! Tried this-it did not work. It never even gets as far as the win
shell and that's the problem. bk

The machine will not boot to
windows. It goes as far as the splash screen for the mb and
then it goes black with a flashing _ about 3 lines from the
top of the screen. >snip

Try booting into safe mode. Start hitting the F8 key just after
the BIOS finishes it's thing, and just before the XP boot
screen comes up. > snip
