When you say you went to another computer - does this mean you have another
computer next to the broken one or is it like - at work?
If it is with you in the same room then one way to is to run a backup on the
working computer's C:\ drive and recover it to the broken one. Some underlay
system control may need tweaking but I have done this but only on computers
using the same MAKE of CPU. Like AMD socket A to AMD 64 with minor tweaks.
Tried it Intel P4 to AMD but wouldn't boot.
Just a thought to get you out of trouble until next week
