Comcast, for example, requires that all email accounts are setup on their
website, not the PC. You only set the account on the PC after it has been
done on their site. I have had the ISP screw up somewhere and drop an
account. To rectify I had to set up again. (They will never tell you if it's
their fault). This was just a shot in the dark as I have no idea of the
required setup or ISP.

Another thing to check, Pete, is whether she is properly setup on the
ISP's site. They may require that their email accounts are set up there
as well as on the PC. Those kind of errors could easily result. Comcast
works that way and it is a pain.
Define "properly set up". She can do webmail and, in the past, was able to
use OE. She has no idea when she noticed the problem nor what she might
have done.
No viruses and Ad-Aware and Spybot say she's clean.
Thanks.
