No, again that is ***NOT*** correct. Read the MSKB again.

To paraphrase: MS recommends installing the MSVRT71.DLL file ***that comes with the application*** into the application's Program Folder. ***DO NOT ASSUME*** the MSVRT71.DLL file will be in the Windows\System32 folder, and if there is one there, ***DO NOT ASSUME*** that it will be the correct version.

Just because it ***APPEARS*** to have worked in this case, it is ***NOT CORRECT*** !!!
