Thanks Mike. No harm intended. You did good for all of us on this list. On
all of the lists I'm on, which I'm probably on about 15 OpenSource
development lists, not including this list, as it is a support/info list.
I constantly talk/interact with people working on the product. You've
answered many questions here which is WHY I was flaming to begin with. It
is so far and few between that users of this list actually get timely
responses[posted to the list], and many times ideas are shared, etc, but
no one seems to come to the rescue soon enough, regardless of
documentation. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Netraverse has
done a hell of a job helping 2 Factions become MUCH closer to 1, The
Windoze users and Linux users.

The history here is one of an interesting project called Merge. I won't go
into detail here, but it's great to see someone extending and creating
something which will DEFINITELY help MANY people in the world by offering
them a good alternative to that other operating system.

Here's the But.
But, it is difficult to deal with a product in which SO many questions
remain unanswered. Users of the list have been dealing with the problems
of 2.4 kernel support and W4L 2.0 for a long time. We have an answer, but
for MANY people, this doesn't appear to be good enough. I'm not going to
rehash it all, we've been through it over and over. I believe Netraverse
is doing the right thing for Netraverse, but that doesn't always coincide
with what's right for the customer, and I've had to make those decisions
myself as well. My goal as Systems Architect for coremetrics is to give my
customers, Development and OPs a solution that suits both, and in turn
will always give the customer the best Coremetrics has to offer.

It isn't easy, but posts to a list once a month isn't really enough. Also,
more beta information should be made available, and often. New snapshot
notifications of betas, a place to go get them, and as many developer
notes as possible, in a Readme.txt or otherwise isn't really asking that
much. This is the kind of user/company interaction, since Netraverse is a
software company, that many of us in the community have come to expect.

I shan't rant so much anymore as I can see I've got some of your
attention, and sincerely thank you for taking the time to help us out by
airing issues with me. Keep up the good work, but keep interacting and
often.
