The issue is not just a matter of paying for upgrades. But rather having
expectations set improperly on behalf of Netraverse, and then being told
that we will not get support for products we purchased _on new kernels
2.4.x and up_. That is the issue. So now if people want to use a 2.4
kernel, they have to pay to upgrade. This is where the heartache comes.
So, If you think that's a fair thing to do to a customer, then by all
means, please applaud away. But if you think that is not fair, then so be
it. Mis-set expectations are one of the hardest things to repair. You not
only hurt the customer base you have, you also damage the company some as
well. Credibility is a big deal, and when customers are unhappy, your
credibility can be in serious trouble.
