Maybe this question has been answered before and I have not been paying attention. At any rate my curiosity is kicking in.   How many beds/prisoners are we talking about for this Huber facility?  Could a large house, duplex or triplex be converted to this use?  Existing residential space would at least seem on the surface to be cheaper to convert than something that is currently commercial.  Are there any special requirements?  One or two persons per bedroom, exercise facilities, food service, minimum square footage, proximity to the existing jail and courthouse, bathrooms, etc.   Paul Olberding ----- Original Message ----- From: Duane M. Thinking outside the box: Although it is beyond the role of the County Commissioners, I would suggest that if these Huber prisoners pose no serious threat that they be released to a home monitoring system (e.g., ankle bracelets to keep track of their movements) and free up jail space for those prisoners who should be incarcerated.
