That's no problem, I'm still wrestling with QAudioOutput on Windows.
Even using a high priority thread to drive the streaming I'm still
getting the occasional stutter when opening dialogs.
Probably you're way ahead of me on this, but just in case:
On the system I'm using now for tests, using code revision 3528:
1. Start program
2. Click "Tune", listen to Tx audio
3. Hit "F2" to open the Configuration screen.
I hear glitches in the Tx audio every time at step 3.
By default, Qt has set the buffer size to 19200. Now, insert
m_stream->setBufferSize(bufSize);
at line 71 of soundout.cpp, just before
m_stream->start (source);
With bufSize=24000 I still hear glitches at step 3.
With bufsize=32000 the glitches are gone.
On the basis of this simple test. I'd suggest setting bufSize=48000, say.
