Title: Re: [wsjt-devel] FT8: Three extra bits are available
Hello Joe,

in Austria, we have 9 states. Regulation says, any activity outside my
registered home must be 'marked'. Therefore we must use the call sign
and '/' plus state number. So, for example OE1MWW/2 if I am in the
state of Salzburg. Btw. any ham call signs in that state are assigned
like OE2xxx

Alternative regulation: /M for 'mobile' or /P for portable operation
can be used, if we are on the move.

Either the /n ( n = 1 to 9) or /M or /P must be used in Austria, if
one is outside home.

Those rules are used by VHF/UHF contesters on mountain, hills etc.
Did not see any contesters running around, except their antenna fell,
so in contest, either the home call, or the '/ plus one digit is the
usual way to be QRV.

Hope that helps

73's de OE1MWW
Wolfgang
