I see you have to specify the exact image (or file) name, even though support 
among OSs differs.  This means creating different waypoint files for different 
OSs.  Would it make sense to also support just giving "dir/foo" instead of 
"dir/foo.bar", and have XCSoar load the best file available?
In an ideal world, one would standardize on one format (such as JPEG) and make 
it work on all platforms.

Second, would it make sense to allow for image files that are named after the 
waypoint (is it unique?) such that the "image=" line can be avoided?  That's 
one less reference to synchronize.
