I haven't exprienced any softirq oopses any more either, that would otherwise appear within 1 or 2 minutes. Keeping the connection alive doesn't seem to be reliable yet. I'll try to figure out the circumstances under which this happens later. One thing still bothering me is SoftMAC appearing to try to reauthenticate/reassociate after I cancel wpa_supplicant. (see wpa.events after 07:10:39 hrs, XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX => my AP)
