Guy,

I think there is a hope in us that when we hear "end of suffering" -- we think
somehow we will get to experience life, only none of it will hurt. This is
impossible.

Its of course context/audience-specific, but "cessation of suffering" is more a
matter of not suffering from within suffering, IMHO. (which leads to the
question, "who is there to do the suffering?").

When asked how the monks endured the heat of summer and the cold of winter, he
responded "In summer we sweat, in winter we shiver. What more do you want to
know?" Trying to imagine what its like to shiver, and not suffer, then use
that as a model for behavior, is like trying to get to the beach my imagining
what you think the ocean sounds like...

---Thanks for the advice Genryu. Maybe I'll have to alter the basics
to a bowl, a spoon, a robe, and a condom.lol. Seriously though,
aren't relationships a form of attachment? And consequently a
begining of suffering? In my job i see a lot of relationships based
on all the wrong reasons(money, looks, abusive behavior, etc), so
maybe it's just me. But between that and wood, Hell, i'm a 2x4.; )Guy
