This is kind of an interesting edge case. I intended to take the exported files and play them with pmidi immediately after exporting them. Since I would control what MIDI port I used with pmidi, it was completely irrelevant to me whether the file played in Rosegarden or not, so I never played it. That explains why the controller settings were all weird! It's probably something tricky and weird and complicated to fix. This makes it more apparent that you don't, in fact, do anything with tempo ramps yet. Oh well. I played it before exporting, and the volume came out fine. It played all the way to the end this time.
