Maybe a different version.  Mine is whatever shipped with the last Kubuntu LTS 
from almost two years ago.

I guess if we get it working with 2 out of 3 "standard MIDI players" that's 
probably adequate.  The idea was to test with things other than Rosegarden, to 
see how this is doing as an export/exchange format.

I'll try aplaymidi myself a bit later, and we'll call that the three, unless 
you can think of yet something else.

And I just got "Unexpected end of file" out of mine, straight up.
