Probably because it started life as a much larger file that I cut down. I'm
glad it turned out to help you catch and fix a bug.

Some problems here. First, I can't ever get pmidi to play the results:

  $ pmidi -p20:0 export.mid
  Unexpected end of file

Second, load the file into MusE, it plays until where that tempo ramp was
supposed to be, and just hangs right there with stuck notes. (I do note that
the markers exported. That's cool!)

All seems well when importing the file back into Rosegarden itself, but pmidi
and MusE suggest that something must be seriously wrong with these .mid files,
and it's only a lucky accident that Rosegarden itself seems to be able to read
them.

On a more dreadful and earth shattering note, I used your branch to conduct an
earlier experiment in MIDI recording, and discovered that *your branch can't
record MIDI at all*!

Manage MIDI Devices, set up my input and output as appropriate, try to record,
and I get zip. Nothing sounds when I play the keyboard, nothing records. No
results of any kind from fiddling with everything trying to get Rosegarden to
see my keyboard.

Try the same experiment with trunk and everything is fine. I haven't suddenly
gone brain damaged; Rosegarden has. This just goes to show you how easy it is
to break something fundamental and not even realize it, because you're focused
on something else.

I'm glad I was lucky enough to catch that before we merged and released any of
this. That's just how it would have happened too:

user: "The new Rosegarden can't record MIDI!"

us: "Oh, sure it can, do you think we're bleeding imbeciles? Here, watch
        this! Uh... Umm...."

user: "You people are bleeding imbeciles, aren't you?"

    us: "..."
