[Blackbelly] TravelWithRonK - changes are happening now

TravelWithRonK - changes are happening now

I have been on the road for 15 years but it is coming to an end. The
trip I am on now is over 11,000 miles in three weeks with at least
9,000 more miles to go (possibly more). This is the LAST long duration
'bus' style trip ever. My body just cannot handle the stress any more.

I will be switching to 'limo' style mode for all future trips. That
means trips of less than 10 days. The limo mode is more expensive so I
will be modifying my fee plan. I will be using the 'shared limo'
concept to keep your expenses as low as possible but my fees are
likely to increase by 50% or more. Even so I will be operating in a
'not for profit' mode but I feel that I owe the entire ag community a
solution for their livestock transport needs until someone else steps
forward.

This is time for the right person to come forward to continue my
legacy. Your name can go down in the Who's Who list of the most
influential people in small livestock history. I believe I am the
single one person who has had the most enfluence on genetic
distribution since Johnny Appleseed! You can carry on with your name
right behind mine.

You will not be alone. You will be in the company of some pretty
special people. Here are just a few examples:

Dr. Phil Sponenberg - the most reknowned livestock genetics DNA expert
in the world

Dr. Martin Dally - who solved the sheep AI yield problems

Suzanne Gasparotto - who turned the lowly pet quality myotonic goat
into a meat goat powerhouse

Don Smith - the 'old man' of boer genetics who successfully cloned
Eggsfile after his tragic death

the dozens of 'old timer' dairy goat breeders who were importing world
class genetics long before the ADGA existed

the new generation of breeders searching the world for new breeds with
Awassii dairy sheep being an example (only 50 animals currently in the
US)

the many dedicated 'rare' breed collectors who are saving the rarest
of the 'heritage' breeds

the SVF Foundation in Rhode Island who is saving the rare breeds in
cryogenic storage

these are all people that I have had the honor of meeting face to face
in a relaxed environment where there was time to chat about what they
had done and are doing

then there are the thousands of small breeders who are pursuing their
dreams of producing that one special animal that will go down in
history as a 'mover and shaker' in their breed

if you have the intestinal fortitude to step forward to make a
committment now is the time!

[Blackbelly] transport - MAY/JUN

2015-04-24 Thread ron keener

transport - MAY/JUN

coast to coast runs coming up! - see below for details

I am in the process of a major upgrade to my van tow vehicle - this is
being done with the meager compensation received from Allstate
insurance for the accident a year ago

I put a new truck grade engine in just before the MAR/APR trip - the
L31 HD engine is specially designed by GM to go into the 2500 HD
pickup that is GMs choice for pulling large RV trailers - after 13,000
miles I can say this is the strongest small block 'work' engine I have
ever used and I am getting over 10 mpg while pulling a trailer!

a visit to the men's 'toy store' (the local wrecking yard) produced an
extremely rare gem - GM makes a special heavy duty rearend that is
used in the heaviest duty dually pickups and the dually class C RVs -
very rarely the rearend is built in a single rear wheel configuration
in a van format - I was aware of their existence but I had never seen
one - Don grabbed the rearend like it was a piece of gold - then we
bought a rearend identical but in a dually pickup format to use for
spare parts - I will end up with freshly rebuilt heavy duty rear end
under the van with the 4.10 gears I want and a pile of spare parts -
this will solve the rearend problems I have been having periodically!

the stock GM heavy duty transmission that is under the van is being
upgraded from a four speed to an eight speed by adding a Gear Vendors
external overdrive unit - with my style of manual control driving I
can now get 10 gear ratios out of what used to be a 4 speed - this
makes driving in rugged terrain much easier and more fuel efficient

in early May I will be going westbound Texas to Oregon with an empty
trailer - I will load up near Portland OR on May 9th with a load going
to Hagerstown MD - after unloading in WV near Hagerstown I go empty
back to GrantsPass OR to load soay sheep going to Wisconsin and llamas
going to Hagerstown - after unloading in WV I again go cross country
to Oregon with an empty trailer - then I load up with sheep at Lebanon
OR going to Portland Maine - after unloading in ME I head west toward
TX again with an empty trailer

I AM GOING WESTBOUND ALONG SEVERAL ROUTES WITH AN EMPTY TRAILER!
PLEASE TAKE THIS RARE OPPORTUNITY TO MOVE YOUR ANIMALS WESTBOUND - I
WILL ZIG ZAG AND OFFER SPECIAL INCENTIVES IF YOU CAN GIVE ME LOADS
GOING WESTBOUND!

I am making long distance trips in the next three months - I have room
on parts of the route if you get back to me ASAP - my contact info is
on my TravelWithRonK.com web site - I always need pick up city/state,
drop off city/state, and a brief description of the animals in every
email

Here is what my current trip route looks like - go to Google Maps
Directions to see it on a map - enter the first two cities on my route
into Google - it will show a map with the route - then keep adding 'a
new destination' by adding the name of the next city in the list -
Google will keep adding to the map so that you can see the entire trip

[Blackbelly] the future of TravelWithRonK

2015-04-18 Thread ron keener

the future of TravelWithRonK

my days are numbered at being able to continue transport trips - the
accident a year ago is taking its toll on a daily basis - if someone
does not step forward to carry the transport flag I will be shutting
down soon and the entire AG community will have lost a service that I
have provided for 15 years - send me a message if you want to talk
about outright purchase of my equipment or gradual takeover of the
transport service - your name can go down in history just like mine!

The past three years have been tough on me financially and physically.
It started with major repair expenses caused by enept repair work done
on the road in 2012 followed by the house fire in 2013 that destroyed
me financially followed by the accident in 2014 that has destroyed me
physically.

It is obvious to me that I cannot maintain the pace I have been
running for the past 6 months so it is time to start thinking about
alternatives.

I am open to a gradual phaseout of my 'career' if I can find the right
person to carry on with the TravelWithRonK 'flag'. If you have a
desire to explore a new phase in your life please get with me
privately. I have a solid reputation that you might be the right
person to carry on with.

TravelWithRonK is not a get rich opportunity. You will earn every
penny that is left over after paying expenses. You will not make a
living off TravelWithRonK. You must have guaranteed supplemental
income to live on. The ideal person would be an early retiree with a
farm background who has a desire to do something worthwhile for the
entire AG community. I have transported 4000 critters in my 15 year
career. These are not 'animals'. They are the genetic future of
thousands of herds and the hopes/dreams of their owners. The reward of
TravelWithRonK is seeing the faces of the new owners the first time
they see their new genetics and then hearing the stories and seeing
the results years down the road from that first investment. Longterm
clients are always willing to show me the results of their new
'bloodline'!

Send me a private email to rkee...@realtime.net to start the
discussion.

LGD weanling pups for sale TN

the three pyrenees LGD weanling puppies are badger marked - they are
presently in the pen behind the drivers seat with a lamancha buckling
- they bonded with him immediately so they are showing promise - price
is $200 each with a discounted transport fee from me - this money will
help Jennifer tremendously with her struggle to survive on the
pittance that the TN court system awarded for child support ($10 per
day per child for special needs children is absurd and the TN judge
should be reprimanded publicly before being removed from office) -
call me at 512.923,4359 if you are interested in doing a good deed
while getting a new LGD prospect

[Blackbelly] transport - SEP/OCT/NOV

2014-09-05 Thread ron keener

transport - SEP/OCT/NOV

the export animals were moved to Montana to get them away from the
stigma of VS (see below) - after a 21 day delay in MT they will
continue their journey northbound

four animals were moved to a quarantine facility in Texas - their
semen and embryos will eventually be used as a MAJOR genetic boost for
Australian dairy goat genetics - it is a very complex and expensive
process to get into Austalia so this investment group is making a
major commitment to improving Australian dairy herds using the BEST
American togg and lamancha genetics

after making expensive repairs to my van engine in Texas (replaced
both heads) the engine blew up in Lewiston Idaho for a different
reason - I had to buy a new engine and have it installed on the road -
that is a VERY expensive solution - my fall budget has been totally
destroyed but thanks to SEP and OCT customers who came through with
100% prepays on their transport reservations I was able to buy the
engine, get it installed, get the quarantine animals back to Texas,
and have gas money to start the SEP trip - you are all WONDERFUL
people!

My large 6x20 double deck trailer is in Hannibal MO - I am looking for
a solution to be reunited with it - if you have a small load going
northbound (central TX to northeast MO) I have a small pen inside my
van - coming southbound on the same route I have the big trailer empty
- I can zig zag - get back to me ASAP if you have a 'solution' - I
will negotiate fees!

The VS outbreak in central TX has caused me to cancel the first leg of
my mid SEP/OCT trip - the first leg was to deliver export animals from
TX to ND - now I am looking for a way to get to Oregon to begin the
trip with eastbound animals - if you have anything needing to go west
along a general TX to OR route (I can zig zag) please get with me
ASAP! I currently have reservations from TX to CO.

The first fall trip will start mid SEP. See the comments about VS
above. Route eastbound is dependent upon reservations. Current
reservations are TX to CO and OR to WI to TX.

I have an eastbound trip forming for OCT. The current possibility is
soCA to CO to NC to VT. Then I have a load going VT to MO and another
load going PA to TX.

[Blackbelly] transport - my schedule is totally readjusted

2014-08-15 Thread ron keener

transport - my schedule is totally readjusted

the combination of the VS outbreak, paperwork snafus, and timing
restrictions has caused my plans to be totally rearranged - the SEP
15th start date is no longer a definite for the SEP/OCT trip - keep
watching my posts for updates

here is what I have working:

TX IA MT OR TX dedicated limo trip happening immediately

tentative CA WA to VT dedicated limo trip - large load with timing
limitations

OR to WI MO TX - longterm reservations (MO TX tentative)

WI to TX - longterm reservation

PA to TX - longterm reservation

OH to TX - dedicated pending property closing legal issues

there are several other things working - what I have to do is fit all
of this into trips that meet time schedules but limit my 'empty' miles
- WHEW!

[Blackbelly] transport - commentary from Ron

2014-07-31 Thread Ron Keener wifi

transport - commentary from Ron

I am able to run limo style trips during AUG and early SEP

I will be occupied with a humanitarian move for the next 10 days - the
TN legal system finally made a decision in Jennifer's child support
case - the TN judge ignored the recommendation of the UT evaluation of
the four special needs children - UT recommended $1000 per month child
support for each child - the judge awarded $300 per child per month -
there is no way that a special needs child can live on $10 per day! -
this is an opportunity for someone who is into political activism to
make sure that an unworthy judge never gets elected to public office
again! But at least Jennifer and kids can get out of TN. They are
moving to Hannibal MO to start a new life.

The VS outbreak in central TX will most likely cause me to cancel the
first leg of my mid SEP/OCT trip - the first leg was to deliver export

[Blackbelly] last call early summer coast to coast transport

2014-06-12 Thread Ron Keener wifi

last call early summer coast to coast transport

I am planning on leaving TX on June 23rd. My route at this time is:

TX ceIA SC NC cePA VT KY weTN neOH neTX soCA noNV neIA TX

there is a chance that the neOH to neTX transport will be done at the
end of the trip rather than as a backtrack during the eastcoast loop

I have limited room IA to SC, VT to TN, OH to TX, and NV to IA.

the wrecked van went into the shop early Tuesday morning - 24 hours
later it had been stripped of anything useable and the shell was ready
for transport to the crusher - I get a bit nostalgic when I look at
the vehicle that I spent 300,000 miles in but then I look at how
effectively the design protected me from serious injury and I am
thankful - with the engine and transmission pulled we could see how
the frame of the van actually bent in a 90 degree curve directly under
my feet - that bend absorbed the impact so that I was not 'smooshed'
by the firewall coming back toward me!

the engine is going into my new van to replace the engine that was a
heavy oil user - the transmission will be a spare for my use when
needed - the other parts will be added to my spare parts inventory and
will be used as needed - all of this 'behind the scenes' activity is
what is required to keep my equipment on the road to better serve the
AG community - maintenance of the equipment is a full time job between
trips!

I am making long distance trips in the next three months - I have room
on parts of the route if you get back to me ASAP - my contact info is
on my TravelWithRonK.com web site - I always need pick up city/state,
drop off city/state, and a brief description of the animals in every
email

I am getting enquiries about possible future trips - I am adding a
list of tentative/long term transports below so that you can see what
I might be doing in the future - I need a pickup city/state, drop off
city/state, and an idea of the animals (even if tentative or just
looking) if you want to be on my 'tickler' file list

Here is what my current trip route looks like - go to Google Maps
Directions to see it on a map - enter the first two cities on my route
into Google - it will show a map with the route - then keep adding 'a
new destination' by adding the name of the next city in the list -
Google will keep adding to the map so that you can see the entire trip
on a map

It is not meant to be a detailed itinerary.

[Blackbelly] rob Peter to pay Paul sale

2014-05-30 Thread Ron Keener wifi

rob Peter to pay Paul sale

Thanks to friends, family, and (especially) my loyal customers I have
survived the months of financial stress following the accident in
January that destroyed my tow vehicle. But I have been operating in
the 'rob Peter to pay Paul' mode while waiting for All State to live
up to its 'insurance' obligation to pay injured parties. The injury
lawyers are telling me it could be 'years' before a settlement is
reached since there is very little provision in the laws to 'force' an
insurance company to move forward (the laws, of course, were written
by insurance company lawyers).

So I am still in the mode of having to ask for your support to help me
get on the road again. I completed an 11,500 mile trip in May but came
home with almost no cash in my pockets to pay for starting the next
trip. I am continuing the discount transportation sale to generate
cash to buy gasoline for the next trip (hopefully in June/July).

Discount transportation sale continues

I am starting a coast to coast transport trip in June.
I start this trip knowing that I have a bare minimum of
cash to cover my gasoline costs. If I breakdown on the
road I am stranded. But I consider my TravelWithRonK
transport service to be an invaluable service to the AG
community. I know of no other person who has had the
effect upon the distribution of livestock genetics as I have
had in the past 15 years. I consider this to be the ultimate
accomplishment of my life. But if an accountant were to
look at my situation the response would be 'double your
prices or shutdown to minimize your losses'.

That is not the way I think! I plan on being around for a
while longer but I need your help. The discount transport
options below are my survival money. Help TravelWithRonK
survive and help the livestock community and yourself!

There are two sale options below. Please read both.

Option one - My fee plan has a fee for the first animal is based upon
distance,

Additional animals are $100 each for distances above 500 miles. During
my 'rob Peter to pay Paul' sale you can buy discount tickets for the
additional animals for $50 each (that is a 50% discount). You can buy
as many of these discounts as you want and you can use as many as four
at a time during future transports. That means you can transport four
extra animals (after the first one) at half price of $50 each rather
than my standard fee of $100 each. If you purchase more than four
discounts they can be used on future trips with no time limit in their
use.

Option Two - if you anticipate using my service in the near or far
future

and can handle a substantial prepay on your transport fee then I can
save you some money! Prepay $700 and transport one additional animal
for free - that is a $100 saving! Prepay $1200 and transport two
additional

animals for free - that is a $200 saving! Prepay $1700 save $300!
Prepay $2200 and save $400! Prepay $2700 and save $500!
There are no time limits on this prepay option.

A quick way to get the money to me is PayPal to rkee...@realtime.net

or... even better

I will set it up to use Chase QuickPay so that you can transfer money
directly into my Chase Bank checking account electronically
(faster than PayPal and its free!)

Discount transportation sale continues

It always amazes me how fate can kick a man when he is down!

Don was told by the ortho surgeon last week that they cannot place a
plate over the fracture in his sternum. He is just going to have to
live with it the rest of his life.

Then Friday he got word that his mother had passed away. We scrambled
to get a vehicle put together that would make the TX MI TX trip so
that he could be with his family. I used a bunch of the money I had
set aside for the late APR/MAY transport trip to give him gas and
personal money. Now I am scrambling to replace the money so I can be
on the road APR 29th.

Please excuse the 'late' Friday market ad.

There are two sale options below. Please read both.

The original concept of 'insurance' was that everyone paid
into a fund that could be used to help injured parties recover
from a 'loss' situation. But the insurance companies have
changed that concept into a maximize 'intake' minimize 'outflow'
situation i.e. PROFIT!

Don and I were totally innocent victims in the January accident
that destroyed my white van tow vehicle and left both of us
with permanent nonrepairable injuries. The insurance companies
know that the state laws (written by insurance company lawyers)
are totally biased in their favor and that the injured parties have
no legal options other than to 'sit and wait' even when cut throat
'injury' lawyers are handling the cases.

Don's one man mechanic shop is penniless because he cannot
function with a fractured sternum. I have not been able to be on
the road while recovering from accident injuries from January and
surgery in March. We have been surviving on my Social Security
but that barely provides 'food' money if we are extremely FRUGAL!
I am about ready to be back on the road again but I cannot start
a trip without operating capital to buy gasoline and for a cash
reserve in case of breakdown expenses once on the road.

So I need immediate cash flow! The 'survive the insurance lawyers'
sale gives you an opportunity to keep my transport service to the
agriculture community above water while saving 50% on your future
transport needs. I have kept my service going even in situations
where I knew I was not making any profit during a trip. This is your
opportunity to help keep that service available for your use in the
future. Please help yourselves by helping Don and I!

extra animals (after the first one) at half price of $50 each rather
than my standard fee of $100 each.

The quick way to get the money to me is PayPal to rkee...@realtime.net

[Blackbelly] another PremierLimo milestone!

2013-01-05 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

I just returned home last evening from another PremierLimo milestone!

A couple weeks ago after delaying a day for a midwest winter storm to
subside I picked up 50 head of Wisconsin dairy sheep. Three days later
they were unloaded in coastal northern California after a hazardous
drive through winter conditions across the western states. It was
pouring rain when I unloaded so the sheep were not impressed by that but
they were impressed by 'green' grass in the middle of the winter! The
large double deck trailer handled the load without problems.

I then went north and east across OR ID MT ND MN WI to pick up and
deliver animals. The winter conditions were no fun for the driver but
Tina and Jeremy had fun in the snow! I finished the trip by picking up
five quality lowline angus cows and calves in MO and delivered them
overnight to south TX. The buyer has an excellent start on a new lowline
herd in TX!

I will be available for limo style trips after a few days of equipment
maintenance. I have tentative transports going to/from both the east
coast and west coast. Please get back to me with any transport plans
that you have. PremierLimo can meet your needs large or small!

[Blackbelly] DEC/JAN transport trip

2012-12-13 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

The DEC/JAN trip scenario is forming now. Here is what is happening:

I am making a quick TX MO TX 'trailerless' trip to pick up some young
lambs that have to be moved immediately. I hope to be on the road for
the three day trip before the weekend is over

While I am on the quick trip my mechanic will be finishing up the repair
of the large trailer. The repaired axle (a nearly $2000 expense) is
ready to go back under the trailer. After returning to TX from MO I will
hook on to the trailer and make an 'empty' run TX to western WI. If you
have anything needing to go northbound please get with me ASAP!

In WI I load up with 50 head of dairy sheep going to the coastal area of
CA north of SanFrancisco. No room for more!

After unloading in CA I take a northern route through CA OR WA ID MT ND
MN WI. I am lightly loaded. Hopefully winter will delay its onset!

In western WI I load up to do as many as three shuttles WI to southeast
OH. This could be as many as 150 dairy goats moving to their new home in OH.

Following the final OH unload I have a tentative large load going to TX.

On the way back to TX I stop in western MO to pick up some mini jersey
cows and calves going to south TX.

Following that I am available to begin a new round of transports using
any of my three trailers - 6x20 double deck, 6x16 low profile, 5x14 high
profile.

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and brief animal
info in every email. Do not depend upon my increasingly 'CRS' memory for
the details of your transport needs.

I need name address phone and animal info to consider your needs as a
reservation.

[Blackbelly] likely DEC trip scenario information

2012-12-06 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

A likely trip scenario is forming now. I am finalizing plans to
transport a large load of dairy sheep from western Wisconsin to central
coastal California. This would leave me on the California coast just
north of SanFrancisco empty with the large trailer. I am looking for
possible riders to come back eastbound.

After three months of waiting I have been told by the manufacturer of
the large trailer axle that they cannot help me by building a new axle
with the same specs as the one needing repair. So I pulled from the
knowledge of some of my heavy equipment user friends and was referred to
a repair shop that has sophisticated machine shop capability. A
discussion with them was promising so we removed the axle from the
trailer body by cutting all of the welds holding it in place. The axle
was delivered to the shop yesterday. I have my fingers crossed that it
will be repaired soon.

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and brief animal
info in every email. Do not depend upon my increasingly 'CRS' memory for
the details of your transport needs.

I need name address phone and animal info to consider your needs as a

hello everyone!

I just got home today from the quick TX to ME to TX loop. All went well

I am accepting reservations now for DEC coast to coast shared limo,

[Blackbelly] Christmas gift animal transport

2012-11-15 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

The trip advertised last week had to be postponed for a week. By the
time I complete the coast to coast biosecure transport described below
it will be time to schedule delivery of your Christmas delivery animals.
I will do my best to fill my role as Ron 'Santa Claus' but you must get
the information to me quickly so I can begin planning.

TravelWithRonK will be hitting the road again for another coast to coast
transport trip Sunday. You can follow my trip via frequent 'from
the road' updates by joining my Yahoo TravelWithRonK group. This mid NOV
trip will be unique due to two back to back 'biosecure' long distance
transports. These two breeders want their new animals to be moved long
distances with zero contact with other animals. Biosecure transport is a
service that I provide specifically to fit the needs of these very
concerned breeders.

The first transport is from the Chicago area to the Seattle area. I will
pick up the animals Monday and expect to deliver them before the weekend.

The second group will be picked up in the Seattle area and will be
transported east. They will be delivered to the Boston area in about 5
days. This transport is over 3000 miles. This will be the longest
transport I have ever made in my 14 year 'career'.

From the Boston area I will return to Texas lightly loaded. If you have
anything needing to be moved along that route I can make zig zags as
needed but you must contact me ASAP! You can reach me on my cell at
512.923.4359 but keep in mind that your call will disrupt either my
sleep or my driving so use that mode of contact judiciously!

Please remember that I need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and
a brief description of the animals every time you contact me. Do not
depend upon my memory for the details of your needs.

[Blackbelly] last call for SEP transport

2012-08-24 Thread Ron Keener

Hello everyone!

Here is my status:

My big 6x20 double deck trailer is still down waiting on a custom built
axle - I have no idea when it will be repaired - until then I am trying
to get maximum usage out of my 6x16 single deck trailer - this limits
the size of my loads severely so I have to be extremely adept at
planning - this means I need constant updates from you about your needs

I am on the road almost constantly so it is very difficult to remain in
communication for planning - I need your help by being very efficient
about giving me information I need in one email exchange - going back
and forth may take several days when I am on the road - I always need
pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and a brief description of the
animals in EVERY email so that my memory is refreshed when I read your
message - I need name address phone info on both ends of your transport
to do detailed planning

Here is a probable summary of my plans though late SEP/early OCT:

late AUG - a TX KS MN ND trip to deliver animals to MN and ND - I am
fully loaded - dates are dependent upon export paperwork being finalized

return to TX via a WI MO AR TX route - fully loaded

load up in TX and head for NewEngland - limited space available

unload in NewEngland then head back toward TX with stops in PA -
space available

load up in TX and head for CA/OR - limited space available

the annual soay transport - load up in Oregon then make stops in WI and
NY eastbound - fully loaded to WI then limited space available

from NY I head west/southwest depending upon unknown reservations

so please work with me by keeping me up to date with your needs - I will

[Blackbelly] transportation status update

2012-08-17 Thread Ron Keener

Hello everyone!

There are several events that have caused some major revision in my
plans for late summer and fall transport trips. I have had two major
cancellations that have caused me to seriously rethink my plans. I have
equipment limitations due to a long term repair action. Below is a
summary of where I am and where I hope to be able to go during the next

has postponed indefinitely.

[Blackbelly] LAST CALL - May/June/July transport

2012-05-11 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

I will be on the road May 21st headed for PA with a load of consigned
animals going to the True Colors Boer Sale in PA on May 26th.

After delivering the consigned animals to the sale arena I will be
making a PA NJ CT PA loop to pick up and drop off animals.

After the sale I will load up sale animals needing to go west/south. The
route will be unknown until the sale is over. But ultimately I need to
make a TX MO ID OR connection for elements of my 'normal' loading.

After arriving in the OR/WA area I will pick up animals and head east on
an OR WA MT KS AR IL and eastbound route back to PA.

From PA I will come back westbound via an OH MI MO OK TX route.

From TX I will make a FL TN KY KS TX loop to finish the trip.

I have limited amounts of room on much of this trip so if you have needs
for transport along a segment of this trip you need to contact me
immediately. If you have transport needs not 'fitting' the above loops
contact me anyway! There may be a way to fit your needs into these loops
or future loops.

With my stable of three trailers,

6x16 low profile Bruton 'luxury limo' trailer
5x14 high profile CM 'limo' trailer
6x20 double deck solid aluminum 'sheep/goat' trailer

TravelWithRonK is able to provide the transport service that you need
for small or large loads of small livestock. I have been providing this
service for 13 years now and have transported over 3500 animals in that
time. I have made the financial commitment to stay in service for as
long as my health lets me. So if you need transport service now or in
the future please contact me privately at rkee...@realtime.net or join
my Yahoo TravelWithRonK group (below).

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and a brief
description of the animals in every email please.

There is no contract other than your word via email. Payment is due on
delivery.

[Blackbelly] last call !!! - June coast to coast transport

2012-05-04 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

On May 21st-22nd I will be loading up in Texas. I am completely full for
the TX to PA segment of the trip. From PA following the True Colors boer
sale on May 26th I will head west with the route being determined by
sale animals. Once I arrive in Oregon I will load up again and head east
along a northern route. I have a route that is taking me down into the
Florida area after the cross country run.

I have absolutely no idea of plans for mid and late summer. Most likely
it will be time for a driver and equipment rest period!

For long range planning I will be transporting a load of T4 genetics
boer goats to Pennsylvania for the True Colors production sale Memorial
Day weekend. The consignors for this sale will have some of the very
best colored boer genetics there for auction. Google 'True Colors Boer
Sale' for information. My plan is to deliver the Texas consignees to the
sale location, wait for the sale to complete, and then begin a coast to
coast transport trip including sale animals (and other animals - my
'normal' loading) from the central Pennsylvania location. This is an
opportunity for colored boer breeders to pick up new genetics with
transportation guaranteed and for other breeders to move animals
westbound. I may have limited space so help me by planning ahead!

There is also a sheep show that same weekend that is close to the boer
sale. If you can get your sold animals to the sheep show or the boer
sale I can meet them there. This is an opportunity to move sold animals
westbound from the Wooster OH show or the PA boer sale.

Bella the service dog trainee pup is already showing her worth and her
instincts. There have been several crisis situations with the special
needs children where she has moved right in to give comfort to the child
in stress. I will be picking up a male pup to go with Bella during my
eastbound route in June. The two standard poodle pups from
Debbiespoodles.com will be used to breed for more service dogs. They
will be trained in a 'working' environment in Tennessee. Contact me
privately if you want more info or want to donate to this worthy cause.
There are pictures in the 'Bella' folder of the Photos section of my
TravelWithRonK Yahoo group. Just join my group to get access to them.

[Blackbelly] ON THE ROAD AGAIN !!!

2012-03-23 Thread Ron Keener

Hello everyone!

There is a personal message below asking for donations to purchase and
transport for a special needs child. If you do not want to read it just
hit delete after reading the upper part of the message.

start of upper part-

TravelWithRonK will be on the road again TUE MAR 27th. My route is:

TX OR WA MT MO TN TX

I will be delivering 'The Other Sale' animals and Texas animals to the
Moro OR April Fools Boer Show where I will meet the buyers. From there I
will go east to MT MO and TN.

It is becoming extremely difficult to get enough riders to even pay for
the gas to make trips. In the past I went coast to coast multiple times
with the large trailer full all the time. Now I cannot get enough riders
to fill the small Bruton trailer for one small loop. I apologize to
everyone who has needed transports that could not be accomplished due to
lack of supporting riders. I cannot make trips financially feasible
without having supporting riders to your needs. Your animals do NOT pay
the expenses to move them. I have to have overlapping transports to
cover my actual expenses. I have two options until the economy comes
back and ag people start spending again. I either charge more so that
your animals pay for their transport or I make fewer trips. Neither
option is good for you or me.

I recently took a drastic step to keep TravelWithRonK on the road. I
sold my home and property to my next door neighbor and am now leasing it
back from them. They are a good couple and are extremely excited that
they doubled their land holdings. They have given me a 'lifetime' lease
so I have a place to live until I choose to move or die. I consider my
TravelWithRonK 'career' to be the most important thing I have done in my
life. It is satisfying to me and it has helped the small livestock
industry in unbelievable ways. The movement of livestock genetics is
vital to the future of our agriculture community. I am proud to have
been part of that vital activity for the past 13 years!

I have several east coast to midwest tentative reservations and a number
of tentative dairy goat reservations from the east and west going to
Texas. Your reservation would add on to these loads making them more
feasible.

For long range planning I will be transporting a load of T4 genetics
boer goats to Pennsylvania for the True Colors production sale Memorial

This is a request for financial assistance from Ron!

We have found a breeder in Montana (Debbiespoodles.com) that has the
puppies needed for this project (bloodlines that have proven histories
as service animals). I am planning on buying the puppies using my income
tax refund. Transport from Montana to Tennessee will be free with the
female pup going in April and the male pup going in June. I have made
the commitment to pay for all of this myself but I sure would appreciate
some assistance! The situation is described below. Please forward this
message to any group/person who you think might want to be involved in
this worthy situation. PayPal is the best way to make a donation.
Anything I receive through PayPal will be forwarded to Debbie Euker at
Debbies Poodles in Stevensville MT.

This family in TN is the one I moved to TX a few years ago to get them
away from an abusive husband/father situation. They had to move back to
TN for legal reasons but now the divorce is final and the ex husband is
being sued for child support. Hopefully this families life will improve
soon!

If anyone has any of the following please respond to this email as well
as letting Ron know. We are looking for the following animals for an
autistic child that Ron has met and can verify to you how completely
animals have been her access to the world, socialization, and true love
and acceptance. She works with the animals daily ... no one ever has to
ask her to feed, water, or take care of them.. if anything it's hard to
pull her away from them. Her bond to them is very special and the

[Blackbelly] LAST CALL!! MAR-APR west coast loop

2012-03-15 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

I am postponing the MAR trip until after the 'Other Boer Sale'
in Monroe LA. If you want to buy at the sale please contact me so that
we can arrange transport back to TX with EGGS. I can pick up the animals
at EGGS and take them to their final westbound destination.

At this time my late MAR/APR west coast loop needs to happen so that it
falls between a couple conflicts with sales and trips. That means you
have about 10 days to become part of this (currently) TX OR WA MT MO TN
TX loop. It will be possible for me to modify the TX to OR part of the
trip to include a southern route through NM AZ CA. I can also modify the
eastbound WA MT MO segment. I have limited load space after making the
stop in MO.

Gasoline prices have been going up at a penny per day for the past
month. That has caused my fee formula to follow. This may be the lowest
transport fees you will see all summer thanks to the speculators! Go to
http://fuelgaugereport.opisnet.com/market.html to see commentary about
what is causing this steep price rise!

[Blackbelly] MAR-APR-MAY transport trips are forming now!

2012-02-24 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

I am accepting reservations now for MAR-APR-MAY transport trips. I have
a few reservations (going coast to coast) but I don't have enough
reservations to make the trips feasible. Your need for transport could
be the deciding factor in allowing me to be on the road again. Gasoline
prices continue to rise so transport fees are going to be going up also.
I do not expect a worldwide recession to happen again to save us on
gasoline prices.

Using the Bruton luxury limo trailer allows me to make trips with
smaller loads while still paying my expenses. Speaking of expenses I
have decided to retire two of my tow vehicles (short van and van/RV with
a total of 1 million miles between them), to rebuild the long van, and
to build a new heavy duty tow vehicle based upon an extra heavy duty
'people mover' mini-bus. I have to build the tow vehicles that I need
because no one builds a vehicle that is appropriate for the unique
application that I have. This is lots of expense for me! Just more proof
that I plan on being around for a while.

For long range planning I will be transporting a load of T4 genetics

[Blackbelly] JAN transport trip - on the road tomorrow!

2012-01-13 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

I will be starting the JAN west coast transport trip JAN 14th. The
route appears to be:

TX TN IL MO CO OR WA CA TX

I had several tentative legs but the people involved have stopped
communicating with me so I have to assume they have changed their plans.
It is very difficult for me to 'plan' when people do not bother to take
the time to tell me when their plans change. I would hate to leave
animals stranded due to lack of communication but at some point I have
to make decisions based upon the confirmed information I have at that time.

I am pretty much fully loaded going westbound but I have space coming
eastbound and can change my route from CA to TX based upon last minute
reservations. I will be checking email while on the road via WiFi but
last minute additions must have time to get vet papers before I can pick
up the animals and legally transport them. I always need names addresses
phone numbers for both ends in order to add stops to a trip.

Gasoline prices have started going up rapidly since Christmas. If this a
long term trend then this may be the lowest fees for transport that you
will see in 2012. My fees are tied into gasoline prices via my formula.
As gas goes up my formula raises my fees to match.

I will be available for 'limo' style trips in FEB but I do not see coast
to coast marathons in my future for a while. This old man is getting
tired and the equipment needs extensive maintenance to get back to 100%
functionality. The long trips are a severe drain on man and machine!

You can watch this trip in real time by joining my Yahoo TravelWithRonK
group below.

[Blackbelly] LAST CALL - JAN transport trip

2012-01-06 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

My apologies to everyone who has been trying to reach me via phone or
detailed email. I have been waiting for over 2 weeks for ATT to repair a
problem with my phone line at home. I have had almost no internet access
from home since mid DEC. Now I am waiting for ATT to send out a boom
truck so they can check a junction box up on my electric termination
pole. If that is not the problem then they are going to have to string
new wire from the street to the termination pole. Back in the days when
ATT was a monopoly service was one of their bragging points. Thanks to
the government stepping in to make things 'better' service is a memory
of a distant past!

I will be starting the JAN west coast transport trip about JAN 15th. The
route appears to be:

[Blackbelly] Now is the Time!!!

2011-12-30 Thread Ron Keener

Now is the time for planning your livestock genetics future!

I just returned from the first ever dedicated biosecure transport using
the Bruton low profile luxury limo trailer and justifiably so it was
delivered to Bruton Road in Florida! The goats were picked up in Texas
on Thursday and delivered to Florida on Saturday.

This load of Powell-Holman and Mauldin prime boer breeding stock were
delivered to a breeder who believes that being prepared for the upswing
in the agriculture economy is the plan for the future. This herd of
ennobled boer bloodlines will have a significant impact on the boer
genetic pool in Florida a year from now when their kids come on to the
breeders market.

You too can create your market by planning ahead. There are many 'deals'
available now due to drought conditions or the prospect of having to
feed animals through the winter. Do some shopping and do some
negotiating to get the genetics you want now. Find the animals you want
and arrange transport with TravelWithRonK PremierLimo to get your new
future delivered to your door! Transport fees were quite reasonable for
this load of 14 animals when looked at on a cost per animal basis even
though it was a dedicated biosecure situation.

I am making a TX to IL to WA to CA to TX loop in mid/late JAN. After
that I will be available for limo style trips to your destinations.

[Blackbelly] LAST CALL --- transport planning for DEC JAN

2011-12-16 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

I expect to be on the road a lot in the next few weeks so final planning
for the JAN trip is going to be difficult - if you want to be part of
any of the trips below you need to contact me immediately!

I have a load going TX to FL in DEC - from FL I will swing up to
Nashville to swap trailers so I can transport an Amish carriage horse
from KY to OK in my high roof limo trailer - I will then return the
trailer to TX - the Bruton limo trailer will stay in TN until JAN

I have a tentative large load going TX to SC for late DEC early JAN -
then I would return the big trailer to TX empty

before mid JAN I have two groups of late term pregnant females that need
to go westbound - my plan is return to Nashville to pick up the Bruton
trailer, pick up animals in the IL IN OH area, then return to TX to swap
trailers and pick up animals going westbound - from there the route is
west to OR/WA and then back via a westcoast counterclockwise loop - I
expect to go southbound from Seattle to the Mexican border east of
SanDiego and then eastbound to west TX before turning north to go the KS
IA IL area - when empty I will return to TX

if you have a need for transport along these general routes please get
back to me with city/state and brief animal info ASAP - I have limited
amounts of room on some of these legs - reply to my private email
rkee...@realtime.net

I am going to try to avoid the severe winter weather of FEB MAR this
year - I will not get all of the repairs done on my stable of vehicles
as I had planned for DEC so FEB is a good time to do that (much better
than sitting in a snow drift somewhere!)

[Blackbelly] transport planning for DEC JAN

2011-12-08 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

I just returned from a quick 5000 mile 9 day shared limo trip to Boston
- the Bruton luxury limo trailer pulls like a dream at highway speeds -
I averaged 58 mph for the trip! The bad news is I came home with a
winter bug and food poisoning (again!) - I am recovering slowly!

I have a load going TX to FL in DEC - from FL I will swing up to
Nashville to swap trailers so I can transport an Amish carriage horse
from KY to OK in my high roof limo trailer - I will then return the

I have been fighting a whole string of problems with the stretch van -
we have replaced every sensor on the electrical system until there was
no option but to replace the main computer (not cheap!) - VIOLA! - a
whole bunch of problems just went away - I have a love/hate relationship
with the modern automotive computer systems! The 4L80 transmission that
did not 'feel' right now drives like a dream - the heavy duty 350 truck
engine has more power than it has had in a long time and several
driveability 'quirks' have disappeared

[Blackbelly] DEC/JAN transport trip planning

2011-11-24 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

There has been a burst of activity since last weeks message. I am now in
'planning' mode for DEC and JAN trips that will take me coast to coast.

Next Monday (NOV 28th) I will be leaving Texas headed north and east.
The route will be TX MO IL WI east to MA CT NY MD and back to TX.

I have a tentative large load going TX to SC for late DEC. The route
might include a drop down into FL. Then back to TX.

Then (a possible scenario of several) ... TX WI OH IL OK TX CO UT WA OR
CA ... and back to TX

If you have anything needing to be moved along these general routes
please get with me ASAP!

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and
a brief description of the animals in each email - I do not
monitor the groups closely so please reply to my home
email address rkee...@realtime.net

it is especially important that you 'refresh' my memory in
each email when I am on the road - I do not have access to
my archive files so it is easy to make mistakes if my
memory is incorrect - I would hate to have my memory be
the cause of your animals missing a ride!

[Blackbelly] TravelWithRonK trip planning in progress

2011-11-10 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

I am still on hold waiting for key components of the new Vortec engine
to arrive. With Christmas gift giving just around the corner I am going
to modify my plans (below) to include 'mini trips' with my existing
engine in the remainder of 2011. If you are interested in being part of
the 'shared limo' trips described below or of helping create a 'westward
swing' trip please get with me ASAP!

I am at my home base in Austin Texas in the process of a major equipment
upgrade and repair effort. The first step is a new more powerful more
reliable engine configuration for my stretch van tow vehicle. The new
Vortec engine is being built now and will be installed as soon as a few
key components arrive for final assembly. At that point I will be
available for 'shared limo' transport trips. A shared limo trip means
that several riders who cannot justify the expense of a dedicated limo
trip combine to form a 'limo loop' trip. I am hoping to be able to
reduce the more expensive limo fees to levels close to my 'bus' fees. It
all depends upon reservations. If you have a tentative need for
transport get to me with the info and I will see what I can piece
together. I currently have a group of soay sheep that need to go from WI
to ME so a TX WI ME ?? loop is conceivable with some more riders.

I also need to pick up my 5x14 high roof trailer that is in Nashville
TN. It would be nice to have someone pay some of my expenses to make the
trip to TN so that I can get my trailer back home to TX. I have room
inside the tow vehicle for a few animals during the TX TN leg. Then I
have the empty trailer to work with for some form of a loop back to TX.

**Biosecurity concerns
**Valuable animals to move
**Animals needing special handling
**Short timeframe transport needed

TravelWithRonK's PremierLimo service is your answer!

Using one of my three tow vehicles and my new Bruton luxury
low profile sheep/goat trailer or either my 14x5 high roof
trailer or my 20x6 double deck trailer TravelWithRonK can
provide that specialized transport that you desire for one
animal or a large load - starting from my Texas base I will
go to your pick up site, pick up the animal(s), transport
them in minimal time to your drop off site, and then
return to my base

to see pictures of the TravelWithRonK 'bus' and 'limo' options go to:

http://CaprioleBoers.com

to see a picture of the Bruton luxury trailer - while there
be sure to look at the best selection of 'name' boer bloodlines
in the Pacific Northwest - thanks Terry!

http://www.JackMauldin.com/

go to the 'Our Articles' section and click on 'Transporting' -
while on Jack's site be sure to see the gorgeous animals on the
'Enoblements' page - those are the 'best of the best' of the
Boer breed! - thanks Jack!

A comment about PremierLimo fees - when you compare a bus ride fee
to a taxicab fee there is a significant difference - the same
applies to PremierLimo fees - bus service depends upon a large
number of riders contributing a smaller amount each toward the
total cost of transport service - limo service depends upon one
or a very limited number of riders paying the total transport fee
- the same applies to PremierLimo - PremierLimo fees will be
considerably more than bus fees but when your circumstances
warrant the expense then PremierLimo will provide the service

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and
a brief description of the animals in each email - I do not
monitor the groups closely so please reply to my home
email address rkeener@realtime. net

A comment about my commitment to providing the best in service:
the economy has been rough on agriculture - most of my competitors are
gone but I continue to expand my service to give your animals the best
transport experience possible - you can depend upon TravelWithRonK to
provide honest fair priced transport service now and in the future!

[Blackbelly] my plans for the remainder of 2011

2011-10-27 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

It has been a long rough year on my equipment stable! My three tow
vehicles and three trailers have seen a lot of miles and a lot of harsh
weather. It is time for a major repair and upgrade effort!

My plans are to get the stretch van upgraded with a new engine
configuration (more power and longer life Vortec engine) and to
thoroughly check it over from nose to tail. When it is road worthy I
will then do major engine/transmission work on the short van and the
van/RV. That will include two new engine upgrades, transmission
rebuilds, spare engine and transmission builds, and system repair.

This is a MAJOR financial and labor investment into the future of
TravelWithRonK. I see the national economy in a slow rebuild so I am
expecting that agriculture will start rebounding also. Farmers and
ranchers are going to want new breeding stock so I plan on being there
ready to deliver when they make their purchases!

I will attempt to keep one tow vehicle ready to travel at all times
during this maintenance effort. The three trailers are in pretty good
shape so only routine maintenance will keep them going. I am changing my
routine maintenance on the big trailer to include 'replacing' wheel
bearings on a yearly and twice yearly schedule rather than depending
upon pretrip cleaning and inspection (which has proven to not be
adequate with two recent on the road bearing failures).

My next major coast to coast trip will probably be in 2012. I will
attempt to do limo trips as needed. The long trips are taking their toll
on my health and energy so I see a cut back in the future to more limo
trips and fewer coast to coast marathons. In order to work in this mode
it is very important that you give me warning about your plans to buy
and ship animals. Even if your plans are vague and tentative having an
'idea' of what might be needed in the future helps me stay organized and
responsive to your needs.

My thirteen years of cross country driving meeting new people and seeing
new sights and my face to face meeting with 3500 unique special animals
has been a special part of my life. I am glad I chose this life path
back when I was recovering from back surgery in the '90s and I am glad
that I resisted the concerted effort by Workers Comp to destroy my
vision of a unique service to solve a special need.

Happy Holidays to everyone from Ron, Tina, and Jeremy!

[Blackbelly] mid SEP/OCT transport - LAST CALL!!!

2011-09-08 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

personal note!! - you have probably noticed that TEXAS IS BURNING!!

the fires are all around me here in central Texas - the air is full of
smoke and fire sirens are sounding constantly as the crews scramble to
put out new spot fires before they expand into disasters!

my well is dry! - I have not gotten any water out of it for several days
- I have enough water in the surface tank to get by until I hit the road
next week - I am hoping that there is water in the well when I get back
home in late OCT - if not then I have an expensive problem!

when I moved on to this property 20 years ago the water table was 320
feet - my pump is now at 480 feet and it is above the water table - that
is a 160 foot drop in the central Texas water table in 20 years!

business opportunity - if you have hay and have the means to transport
it into Texas there is a 'begging' market here - please bring us your
excess hay! - you will be able to sell it in minutes just by parking on
the side of the road with a sign!

Labor Day I went to San Angelo TX to the Lazy S-T boer dispersal sale -
this was the last event of a three day sales extravaganza where nearly
1000 prime boer breeding stock animals were sold - prices ranged from
real bargains to $30,000 for a 'new' boer bloodline buck - two of his
brothers sold for $20,000 each - there are pictures and the story at
GoatRancherUpdate.blogspot.com

while at the sale I met with Terry Hankins the editor of Goat Rancher
magazine - he surprised me by saying that he follows my transport
activities closely on the internet - we talked about many things then he
took pictures of the Bruton limo trailer - this will likely mean an
article in Goat Rancher about my limo service at some point in the
future - if you see the article please let me know so that I don't miss it!

-

mid SEP/OCT coast to coast transport trip - LAST MESSAGE BEFORE TRIP

if you want to be part of this trip you need to contact me immediately!
- space is already limited - email to rkee...@realtime.net

the trip starts SEP 15th with a rare TX northbound to ND leg with stops
in TX AR IA MN ND - after meeting the Canadian buyers of export animals
in Portal ND I will go west to MT ID WA OR picking up and dropping off
animals

in OR I pick up a large load going east to MO SD and NY - this has
turned into a yearly event where I move rare soay sheep from coast to
coast! - thank you to all the people who plan well in advance to share
in the cost of long distance transport! - their planning lets me offer
very reasonable fees to them even on the coast to coast transports!

after unloading in NY I start picking up again in PA NC and head back
west via NE to WA OR CA - again I pick up large loads in WA OR going
east to CO OH after a swing down into central CA to deliver some more
soays and mini donkeys and to pick up going to MD

after delivering the large load to OH MD there is a chance that I will
be delivering a large load from MN IA to Miami FL for export to Jamaica
- we are still working on the details of this near my maximum capacity
load of hair sheep

POSSIBLE ADDED LIMO TRIP - there is a tentative TX CA TX limo trip - if
the buyer goes ahead with this option I would be making a quick trip
late OCT along the southern route - the buyer is willing to share space
and fees

from there I would go back to my home base in Texas - this is going
to be a LONG trip so when I get home I am going to be TIRED! - it is not
likely that I will make any long trips in NOV and possibly DEC - I have
a lot of work needing to be done on my equipment stable of three tow
vehicles and three trailers - it is an ongoing expensive process keeping
all the equipment functioning and safe for the type of miles I put on it
and the hard work I ask it to perform! - my mechanic always has a big
smile on his face when I pull in the driveway of his shop! - he has
spent a week modifying and upgrading the new Bruton luxury limo trailer
with more ventilation, a generator for the rooftop AC, and modified
interior gating to improve functionality for my application - the Bruton
is now a one of a kind totally unique trailer just like my 20 foot
double deck trailer is a totally unique trailer designed for a purpose!
- just another indication that I intend to give your animals the best
transport experience I can now and in the future!

it appears that all of my small livestock transport competition has
succumbed to the economy - that means that my trips are going to become
longer and loading heavier in 2012 - your early reservations are going
to become even more important - I do not ask for a deposit but I do ask
that you let me know immediately if your plans change so that I can
assign your reserved space to other animals - I will move as many
animals as possible but I only have so much time and space! - it does
not mean that I will be raising my fees! - my fee plan has been in use
for over 5 years and I intend to keep using it

ND I will go west to SD ID WA OR picking up and dropping off animals

in OR I pick up a large load going east to MO SD and NY - this has
turned into a yearly event where I move soay sheep from coast to coast!
- thank you to all the people who plan well in advance to share in the
cost of long distance transport! - their planning lets me offer very
reasonable fees to them even on the coast to coast transports!

after unloading in NY I start picking up again in PA VA NC and head back
west via NE to WA OR CA - again I pick up large loads in WA OR going
east to CO OH after the swing down into central CA to deliver some more
soays and mini donkeys

after delivering the large load to OH there is a chance that I will be
delivering a large load from MN IA to Miami FL for export to Jamaica -
we are still working on the details of this near my maximum capacity
load of hair sheep

from there I would go back west to my home base in Texas - this is going
to be a LONG trip so when I get home I am going to be TIRED! - it is not
likely that I will make any long trips in NOV and possibly DEC - I have
a lot of work needing to be done on my equipment stable of three tow
vehicles and three trailers - it is an ongoing expensive process keeping
all the equipment functioning and safe for the type of miles I put on it
and the hard work I ask it to perform! - my mechanic always has a big
smile on his face when I pull in the driveway of his shop!

it appears that all of my small livestock transport competition has
succumbed to the economy - that means that my trips are going to become
longer and loading heavier in 2012 - your early reservations are going
to become even more important - I do not ask for a deposit but I do ask
that you let me know immediately if your plans change so that I can
assign your reserved space to other animals - I will move as many
animals as possible but I only have so much time and space!

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

if there are timing restrictions or complications (export)
please inform me of your needs and schedules

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly
to my private email address at rkee...@realtime.net

payment is due on delivery - I can take cash, bank check, MO, and PayPal

there is no contract other than your word via email

[Blackbelly] transport trip planning - PremierLimo trips available

2011-07-29 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

I knew it was a mistake to visit Murphy ID on the last trip - after
leaving me alone for a while Murphy hitched a ride with me when leaving
Murphy ID - in spite of Murphy's interference the van tow vehicle has a
new transmission and a new rear end differential for the early AUG trip
- as soon as TX to ID export paperwork is ready I will be making a TX AZ
ID run to deliver the export animal

then I will jump over to WallaWalla WA to pick up my new Bruton luxury
limo trailer - I have limited space on a WA to MN to MI to TX loop with
that trailer

planning is progressing for later trips - I expect to be going north
from TX to ND in mid SEP to deliver a load of export animals - then I
will go west to OR to pick up animals going east as far as the east
coast - from there my route depends upon reservations - keep me up to
date on your needs so I can include your animals in the trips

**Biosecurity concerns
**Valuable animals to move
**Animals needing special handling
**Short timeframe transport needed

TravelWithRonK's PremierLimo service is your answer!

Using one of my three tow vehicles and my new Bruton luxury
low profile sheep/goat trailer or either my 14x5 high roof
trailer or my 20x6 double deck trailer TravelWithRonK can
provide that specialized transport that you desire for one
animal or a large load - starting from my Texas base I will
go to your pick up site, pick up the animal(s), transport
them in minimal time to your drop off site, and then

be sure to look at the best selection of 'name' boer bloodlines
in the Pacific Northwest - thanks Terry!

go to the 'Our Articles' section and click on 'Transporting' -
while on Jack's site be sure to see the gorgeous animals on the
'Enoblements' page - those are the 'best of the best' of the

[Blackbelly] OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS!!

2011-07-29 Thread Ron Keener

OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS!!! - do you have a gypsy spirit? - would you like an
excuse for wandering around the country at a leisurely pace with
occasional spurts from point A to point B? - I am exploring the concept
of adding some retired people (man, woman, couple) to a list of people
willing to occasionally fill gaps in my PremierLimo service when I am
not able to meet the customers needs - I would arrange the transport,
set fees, and do all coordinating with the customer - you would arrive
at the pick up location with your rig (ideally a small RV and small
livestock trailer), pick up the animal(s), and transport to the drop off
location - you would collect the transport fee and pay me a finders fee
- the rest of the fee is yours for gas money to support your vagabond

information about your status and your qualifications to be trusted with
valuable animals for a few days

[Blackbelly] JUN/JUL trip report ..and.. MORE!!!

2011-07-22 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

SPECIAL INFORMATION/OPPORTUNITY BELOW

the June/July coast to coast trip was completed on Monday with over
15,750 miles being covered and a large number of animals being delivered
- thanks to everyone who helped me keep the trailers full!

my tow vehicle and trailer are now in the shop getting
repairs/maintenance in preparation for the next trip - I had hoped to
take some time off during JUL/AUG but it is not going to happen - I am
planning AUG and SEP trips now - reservations are being taken so contact
me via private email at rkee...@realtime.net to get your needs on my
list - as far as I can tell I am the only surviving small livestock
transport service out of the original half dozen who catered to the
sheep/goat breeders a few years ago - the economy has been tough and it
has taken its toll on me but I have survived! - I am seeing a renewed
interest among livestock people to start stocking up with new genetics -
now is the time to think about the future!

OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS!!! - do you have a gypsy spirit? - would you like an
excuse for wandering around the country at a leisurely pace with
occasional spurts from point A to point B? - I am exploring the concept
of adding some retired people (man, woman, couple) to a list of people

lifestyle! - if you are interested please send me a private message with
information about your status and your qualifications to be trusted with
valuable animals for a few days

I am planning a trip to southeast WA in AUG to pick up my new luxury
Bruton low profile trailer - this trailer will be used for coast to
coast PremierLimo service - this increases my equipment stable to
three trailers and three tow vehicles - each is designed to provide a
unique form of transport service - watch for an official announcement
about the new trailer!

[Blackbelly] TRANSPORT - looking ahead to AUG/SEP

2011-06-10 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

this old man (ME) is getting tired! What do you expect from a
Medicare recipient! (yep I am hitting that magic 65 - now I know
the government loves me!)

the late summer trips have always been a strain on me, the equipment,
and the animals - the summer heat takes its toll!

I am contemplating doing only 'limo' style trips during the late summer
- if you are contemplating moving animals during AUG/SEP please get with
me so I can see if several transports can be combined into one limo trip
- if I can find enough riders my limo fees when pulling the small
trailer are similar to my large trailer 'bus' fees

[Blackbelly] limo style trip mid June TX CO OH NC TX

2011-05-20 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

due to some schedule conflicts I am having to revise my mid June/late
June/July trip plans

currently my revised plans are:

June 8th travel westbound Austin TX to Cheyenne WY
Cheyenne WY June 9th - pick up animals going to OH NC
travel eastbound on I-80 to Cleveland OH
travel southbound on I-79 to western NC
return to Austin TX

then there will be a delay until LATE June before I begin the June/July
bus style trip:

eastbound from TX to KY VA picking up animals
westbound from VA to OH MI picking up/dropping off animals
westbound MI to MO KS SD MT ID WA OR picking up/dropping off animals
eastbound ?? unknown route

if you have animals needing to go along any of these routes please get
with me ASAP

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly

effective May 13, 2011 - my fee payment plan has been changed! -
due to circumstances caused by Chase bank destroying my credit
rating (due to no cause from me a perfect 20 year customer with
no missed or late credit account payments) I am having to operate
with limited credit access - I am going to be asking for partial
up front prepayments for your transport fees - this is going to
be a paperwork nightmare and an extra hassle for you but I have
no choice - your prepay will be refundable if you need to cancel
but there might be a delay before I can handle the logistics of
getting the prepay back to you - I apologize for this inconvenience
that is just another sign that there is no win-win relationship
between corporate America and consumers in modern society!

[Blackbelly] June/July transport trip - SHORT planning cycle!!!

2011-05-13 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

circumstances are forcing me to commit to a possible short planning
cycle for this trip - here is what will happen:

June 9-12th - I meet animals coming from Oregon at the EstesPark CO
fiber show - then (hopefully) I have other animals in the CO/NM/west TX
area that also need to go east that can be picked up

I then head for the east coast KY/VA area picking up any animals along
the way that need to go east/north/west (northern route) - this is
basically a counterclockwise east coast loop starting in Texas and
ending in the upper midwest

from the midwest I continue on west to OR/WA - once on the west coast I
pick up animals needing to come back east - not a definite route yet

if you have animals needing to move along this general route please get
with me ASAP!!

[Blackbelly] LAST CALL - trip begins MAR 30th

2011-03-25 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

the April coast to coast transport trip begins March 30th from Austin TX
- I am running empty from Austin to Bakersfield CA via I-10, I-20 or
I-40 - if you have anything needing to be moved along this westbound
southern route you have to contact me IMMEDIATELY!! - this is an
opportunity for limo style service at bus service pricing!

from California I have a dedicated limo transport from CA to NC - the
trailer is totally reserved! - I have a small pen inside the tow vehicle
that is available - the route is via I-40 - no deviations

after unloading in NC I will drop down to Orlando FL to begin the coast
to coast bus service trip - the route is presently:

FL NC VA ME OH WI IA TX

followed immediately by:

TX OK IL ND ID OR OH TX

the route for the gap in the trip will be determined by new
reservations - I will be checking email while on the road - just keep in
mind that it is difficult to work out details when I only check email
once or twice a day rather than the half dozen times when I am home

there is a strong indication that the segment will be a west coast
north to south to north 'loop' - I am waiting on a couple tentative
transports to make up their minds - I have to make a decision by this
weekend in order for riders to have time to get vet papers so watch my
Yahoo TravelWithRonK group for updates

[Blackbelly] TravelWithRonK PremierLimo transport service

2011-03-25 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

I will be on the road March 30 for my April coast to coast trip - during
that trip I will be accepting reservations for 'limo' style trips in May
and June - please contact me with your needs and we will work out the
details - gas prices continue to go up so my fees are forced to follow
along - if I combine several limo transports into one 'loop' then I am
able to reduce fees for everyone involved

**Biosecurity concerns
**Valuable animals to move
**Animals needing special handling
**Short timeframe transport needed

TravelWithRonK's PremierLimo service is your answer!

Using either of my tow vehicles and either my 14x5 trailer
or my 20x6 double deck trailer TravelWithRonK can provide
that specialized transport that you desire for one animal
or a large load - starting from my Texas base I will
go to your pick up site, pick up the animal(s), transport
them in minimal time to your drop off site, and then
return to my base

to see pictures of the TravelWithRonK 'bus' and 'limo' options go to:

http://www.JackMauldin.com/

- go to the 'Our Articles' section and click on 'Transporting' (thanks
Jack!) - while on Jack's site be sure to see the gorgeous animals on the
'Enoblements' page - those are the 'best of the best' of the Boer breed!

the very first ever PremierLimo transport trip was completed June 3rd -
9400 miles were driven at an average of 54.5 mph - the 'limo' concept
lived up to my vision for the service:

west TX to east GA - 2 day delivery
west NC to southwest OR - 5 day delivery
west AZ to east KY - 4 day delivery

A comment about PremierLimo fees - when you compare a bus ride fee
to a taxicab fee there is a significant difference - the same
applies to PremierLimo fees - bus service depends upon a large
number of riders contributing a smaller amount each toward the
total cost of transport service - limo service depends upon one
or a very limited number of riders paying the total transport fee
- the same applies to PremierLimo - PremierLimo fees will be
considerably more than bus fees but when your circumstances
warrant the expense then PremierLimo will provide the service

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and
a brief description of the animals in each email - I do not
monitor the groups closely so please reply to my home
email address rkeener@realtime. net

[Blackbelly] APRIL TRANSPORT - LAST CALL

2011-03-18 Thread Ron Keener

LAST CALL --- LAST CALL --- LAST CALL! --- NOW OR NEVER!
TIME IS GETTING SHORT FOR BEING PART OF THE APRIL TRIP!
RESERVATIONS NEED TO BE MADE IMMEDIATELY IF YOU WANT TO
BE PART OF THIS TRIP!

The April coast to coast trip is starting April 1st!

The route for the first segment of the trip is roughly:

TX FL ME WI TX

I will delay in TX until about April 15th then start the
second segment which will be roughly:

TX IL ND ID WA/OR ??? - the route will be determined by several
tentative transports that I am waiting on decisions for

I offer two services - the 'bus' service combines transports
from a number of people to form a daisy chain route - the
'limo' service offers more direct transport with either a
single rider or a limited number of riders - obviously the
limo service is more expensive

planning for the late MAR/APR trip is going on now! - trip routes are
beginning to fill up - my trip routes are determined by riders with
reservations - the earlier you make reservations the more likely I am to
use your transport to 'define' my route - waiting to late may mean that
I am not able to make the necessary zig zags to pick up/drop off your
animals

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

if there are timing restrictions or complications (export)
please inform me of your needs and schedules

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly
to my private email address at rkee...@realtime.net

payment is due on delivery - I can take cash, bank check, MO, and PayPal

there is no contract other than your word via email

[Blackbelly] MARCH MADNESS SALE!! - transport discount certificates

2011-03-11 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

Are the spiking gasoline prices driving you crazy! Do you believe the
speculators have our best interest in mind! NOT ME!

I am resurrecting the TravelWithRonK Discount Certificate program during
March. You can beat the rising gasoline prices by making an investment
that will give you a 100% return! For an investment of $50 you will get
a discount of $100 toward future animal transports beginning with the
April 2011 trip. Yes that includes existing reservations already in
place for the April trip! Fees for future trips will be calculated using
my 'formula' that has been in use for several years. It has proven to be
fair to you and me in spite of fluctuating gasoline prices.

There is no limit on the number of certificates you can purchase at $50
each. There is no time limit on their redemption. Only one certificate
can be used at a time during future trips. The exception to that is if
you use the certificate as part of your animal sales incentive program.
If I pick up animals from your location that are going to several
customers you can assign a discount certificate to EACH customer!

NEWS FLASH! - Tina and Jeremy just told me to include a special
incentive! If you purchase 5 certificates ($250 purchase price) they
will include a sixth certificate for free! That is $600 worth of
discount toward future transports for $250!! WOW!! Try to beat that on
the stock market! (I am going to fire those mutts!)

Please send your name, address, and phone to my private email address

rkee...@realtime.net

I do not monitor the groups closely so a reply through the group most
likely will be missed. I will reply with my mailing address for Money
Orders and bank certified checks (no personal checks please). Or you can
pay through PayPal to my rkee...@realtime.net account. I must receive
your email during March. This program will not be extended into April!

[Blackbelly] I transport your dreams!

2011-02-17 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

A friend asked me why I enjoy being on the road so much. It took me a
while to come up with an answer that really expressed how I feel.

Here it is!

What I am delivering is 'dreams'. The new owners of animals have a dream
about where they want to go with livestock, they find the animal that
can help in that dream, and I deliver their dream to them! It is
exciting to see the facial expressions when people see their new animal
for the first time!

I offer two services - the 'bus' service combines transports

I am not able to make the necessary zig zags to pick up/drop off your
animals

**Biosecurity concerns
**Valuable animals to move
**Animals needing special handling
**Short timeframe transport needed

TravelWithRonK's PremierLimo service is your answer!

Using either of my tow vehicles and either my 14x5 trailer
or my 20x6 double deck trailer TravelWithRonK can provide
that specialized transport that you desire for one animal
or a large load - starting from my Texas base I will
go to your pick up site, pick up the animal(s), transport
them in minimal time to your drop off site, and then
return to my base

to see pictures of the TravelWithRonK 'bus' and 'limo' options go to:

http://www.JackMauldin.com/

- go to the 'Our Articles' section and click on 'Transporting' (thanks
Jack!) - while on Jack's site be sure to see the gorgeous animals on the
'Enoblements' page - those are the 'best of the best' of the Boer breed!

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and
a brief description of the animals in each email - I do not
monitor the groups closely so please reply to my home

[Blackbelly] DEC/JAN trip completed - planning starts for next trip

2011-02-03 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

the DEC/JAN coast to coast transport trip was completed Monday with
17,500 miles being covered in 5 weeks - mother nature threw her best at
me but for the most part I dodged the bullets! - a blizzard shut down
NorthDakota causing me to cancel a transport but otherwise everything
went through pretty much on schedule - I got stuck once (in a PA truck
stop parking lot no less!) and had to use chains twice (in TN and IL)

I am expecting to take a break for a few weeks before the next trip -
probably the next trip will be late MAR/APR - keep a watch on my Yahoo
TravelWithRonK group for updates - I am taking reservations now for this
and future trips - my trip routes are determined by riders with
reservations - the earlier you make reservations the more likely I am to
use your transport to 'define' my route - waiting too late may mean that
I am not able to make the necessary zig zags to pick up/drop off your

I am in the middle of a coast to coast trip now - you can watch the trip
happen in real time by joining my Yahoo TravelWithRonK group - my route

the very first ever PremierLimo transport trip was completed June 3rd -
9400 miles were driven at an average of 54.5 mph - the 'limo' concept
lived up to my vision for the service:

west TX to east GA - 2 day delivery
west NC to southwest OR - 5 day delivery
west AZ to east KY - 4 day delivery

A comment about PremierLimo fees - when you compare a bus ride fee

[Blackbelly] DEC/JAN trip starts Sunday!!

2010-12-24 Thread Ron Keener

Merry Christmas everyone!

I will be home for part of the day Christmas day but I hit the road late
in the day to pick up some LGD puppies north of me - you can watch this
trip in motion by joining my Yahoo TravelWithRonK group (below)

the late DEC/JAN trip is coast to coast with a possible second west
coast loop in late JAN - my route is as follows (roughly):

4 stops in central/west TX followed by AR IN IL MN ND WA OR TN TX

then TX MD MA ?? TX - space is available

then possibly another west coast loop - I have a number of transports
pending (below) that I am not able to fit into a trip so I am hoping for
some more reservations between now and mid JAN that can fill out and
complete that loop

WA to CA - OR to OH - NM to WY - MO to TX - NV to WA - IL to AZ

Gas prices are creeping up again so this trip may be the lowest fee rate
for 2011. My fee formula is based upon the price of gasoline during the
transport so it varies up and down in step with gas prices.

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

if there are timing restrictions or complications (export)
please inform me of your needs and schedules

[Blackbelly] I transport dreams!

2010-12-09 Thread Ron Keener

I am in the process of putting together east coast and west coast 'mini'
limo trips for DEC/JAN - I have animals needing to go to/from both
directions but I just need a few more fill ins to help bring the fees
for limo style service down to near bus style fee levels - I do not see
a coast to coast trip in the planning unless someone pops up with a
specific need that will pay the cost of a coast to coast trip - it never
hurts to ask because all I need for a limo trip is one larger transport
or several small transports running along the same general route to be
able to cover my expenses

both the east coast and west coast loops are very close to being
feasible - I am waiting on a couple answers for the east coast - I am
waiting on one answer for the west coast - this may be your last chance
to get on board!

and don't forget! - it is time to deliver those 'special' Christmas gift
animals - I will do my best to get them to their new homes during the
holiday season

[Blackbelly] TRIP IS OVER! (finally) - planning starts

2010-11-25 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

the AUG/SEP/OCT/NOV trip is finally over - I was on both the east coast
and the west coast three separate times each - I was beginning to feel
like a ping pong ball being bounced back and forth between the oceans!

it was a rather eventful (read that expensive) series of trips

I got stuck twice and had to be towed out
I was thrown 10 feet across the yard by an angry bull
I blew up three engines
I burnt up one transmission and have another needing rebuild
I have a scheduled engine/transmission rebuild in progress

obviously my finances are hurting! - the only solution is to stay on the
road - I had hoped to be at home this year after eight years of being on
the road at Christmas but it is not to be

so my plan is to keep the 'limo' trailer busy for the next couple months

if you have anything that needs to be transported please get the info to
me so I can try to put some 'mini' loops together where I can give you
limo service at near bus service pricing

if you have Christmas 'gift' animals to be delivered please let me know

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,

[Blackbelly] coast to coast transport happening NOW!

2010-09-30 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

most likely when you read this message I will have been on the road for
several hours (4 AM wakeup!) - if you want to watch the action in real
time just join my Yahoo group below - I will be going from Texas to
SanFrancisco, east all the way to the coast of Maine, and back to Texas
over the next 2-3 weeks - if you are considering animal transport in the
future this is an opportunity to watch me in action - the best way to
form an opinion is to watch, learn, and decide for yourself!

after the early/mid OCT loop I will be making a second loop late OCT/NOV
again from coast to coast - if you want to be a part of either of these
loops please get with me ASAP!

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly

--

Thanks to restrictive USDA regulations I no longer transport dogs!
Please let your local USDA inspector know how stupid it is to apply
'pet' transport regulations to climate acclimated working dogs!
With enough pressure maybe we can get the government morons to
recognize the difference between lap pets and working livestock dogs
and that working dogs transport best in the trailer with the livestock
we expect them to protect with their lives!

[Blackbelly] LAST CALL - on the road tomorrow!

2010-09-03 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

the next 10-12+ weeks are going to be extremely hectic for me - I am
going to be on the road almost constantly so planning trips and adding
last minute additions is going to be complicated by having to work from
my laptop PC sitting on the steering wheel of my tow vehicle

here is what is happening: (please read carefully and save this message
because I am not likely to be posting advertisements on a regular basis
until NOV)

between now and Labor Day I am going to scrambling to get a tow vehicle
on the road - we made good progress this week but the new 'stretch' van
is not ready to go yet - taking a heavy duty passenger street vehicle
and turning it into a super duty tow vehicle is not an easy process!

about SEP 4th (if export papers are ready) I will be picking up animals
in central TX going to NewEngland as part of a PremierLimo transport -
after dropping animals off at the border just across the river from
Ottawa/Montreal Canada I will pick up a load in Maine and head south
picking up and dropping off as I go - the final destination is Houston
TX - I am full up on this trip except for the TN to TX final segment

then I immediately pick up animals in central TX and head for Idaho via
OklahomaCity - the animals will be delivered to IdahoFalls ID - I have
room on this segment - then I will be returning to Texas 'empty' - if
you have animals needing to be moved northwest toward Idaho or southeast
toward Texas please get with me ASAP!

then I will be home for a few days trying to finalize planning for the
late SEP/OCT coast to coast trip at the same time I am trying to get the
big van/RV tow vehicle ready to be on the road with a new engine and
transmission and major winter salt damage repair - the hope is to be on
the road westbound the last week of SEP to start the SEP/OCT coast to
coast transport trip

the route is west from TX (with a possible swing up into MO first) via
western CO to central CA - I have limited room on this segment

then I head north to OR/WA where I will load up to maximum capacity with
animals going east - I begin delivering these animals starting in Kansas
and continuing on to as far as Maine with several drop off stops between
- I will not have room for pick ups until I am east of the MississippiRiver

following the delivery of OR/WA animals to Maine I will turn south - the
route is not well defined on this segment and I have room headed back in
the general direction of Texas and the final delivery of OR/WA animals

now it gets REALLY complicated! - I have animals in Texas needing to go
east - I have animals in Texas and north needing to go west - I have
animals in Idaho/Montana needing to go east - somehow during the trip
and using my laptop I am going to try to come up with a solution to all
your 'needs' while trying to keep my sanity intact!

do not plan on a NOV/DEC coast to coast 'bus' trip - I have been on the
road for the past 7 years at Christmas/NewYears - I do not plan on doing
it again! - I may do some short quick 'limo' trips but even that is
tentative based upon how dedicated I feel

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

if there are timing restrictions or complications (export)
please inform me of your needs and schedules

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly
to my private email address at rkee...@realtime.net

payment is due on delivery - I can take cash, bank check, MO, and PayPal

there is no contract other than your word via email

[Blackbelly] PremierLimo - trips available!

2010-09-03 Thread Ron Keener

**Biosecurity concerns
**Valuable animals to move
**Animals needing special handling
**Short timeframe transport needed

TravelWithRonK's PremierLimo service is your answer!

Using either of my tow vehicles and either my 14x5 trailer
or my 20x6 double deck trailer TravelWithRonK can provide
that specialized transport that you desire for one animal
or a large load - starting from my Texas base I will
go to your pick up site, pick up the animal(s), transport
them in minimal time to your drop off site, and then
return to my base

to see pictures of the TravelWithRonK 'bus' and 'limo' options go to:

http://www.JackMauldin.com/

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and
a brief description of the animals in each email - I do not
monitor the groups closely so please reply to my home
email address rkee...@realtime. net

[Blackbelly] USDA restrictive dog transport regulations

2010-08-26 Thread Ron Keener
when it comes to comments about the USDA and its actions the responses
range from 'explicit four letter words telling the USDA where to go and
what to do when they get there' to 'they are the government and they
know best' - I received the following eloquent comments speaking from
personal experience - obviously I deleted the names to protect the innocent!

The USDA is insane! Re: transporting a working dog in a cab in a crate.
I attempted to do this once with a working dog that came with a flock
of sheep I had purchased. Getting him into the crate was stressful for
all involved. After getting 30 minutes down the road, I was sure that
he was going to have a coronary. Slobbering, whining, etc. I pulled
into the closest vet as an emergency. They took one look at the dog
and told me to transport him with his sheep. In my very well
ventilated cattle panel trailer. Problem solved. The rest of the 18
hour journey home was uneventful.

this is exactly my contention with the USDA - when animals are being
transported an experienced handler has to be given the option to do what
is best for the animal in the current situation irrespective of
government 'regulations'

I would like someone from within the USDA ranks to come out with a
public statement about what is most important when it comes to animal
welfare (this is the Animal Welfare Act we are discussing)

animal welfare? or government regulation?

come on USDA - which is it?

animal? or regulation?

where are your highest priorities?

[Blackbelly] TravelWithRonK for sale? .. well no but ...

2010-08-19 Thread Ron Keener

I am not getting any younger and my health is not the best - the stress
of being on the road TOO much is catching up with me!

so I am exploring the possibility of becoming a two man operation - that
being a driver/equipment maintenance supervisor and a
marketing/planning/organizing supervisor - if I can find the right
person for the driver role I would seriously consider semi-retiring!

I am thinking along the lines of an 'internship' so that I can be sure
that I am happy with the person and the person is happy with the
lifestyle that driving for TravelWithRonK entails!

the internship would be that the driver would be responsible for the
PremierLimo driving services for a period of time - the limo concept has
totally surprised me by how many potential riders have come forward just
in a couple months of operation - I was expecting that PremierLimo would
just fill my 'free' time between bus trips - instead it is showing signs
of being a full time service

after the new driver is comfortable with the life style then I would
give him the opportunity to buy into TravelWithRonK in a large way and
to start doing coast to coast trips - eventually we would change roles
where I am doing limo trips and he is doing bus trips

the ideal person to fill the driver role would be:

a single male - a bit of a loner that enjoys highway travel
ideally an early retiree who has a guaranteed income
a non-smoker non-drinker with adequate social skills
most likely a change of residence to Austin TX would be required
willing to live a spartan lifestyle in close contact with animals
someone who has animal experience preferably sheep and goat
someone who really CARES about the animals and ENJOYS them
someone who is able to invest some cash capital into his future
someone who is dependable and will be in for the long-term
someone who can interface with customers face to face and by phone
someone who puts the customer's needs first
someone who is willing to go the extra mile for the customer
someone who is detail oriented but can adjust 'on the fly'
someone who has above average vehicle mechanical knowledge
someone who can handle the stress of 'on the road' problems
someone who can interface in detail with mechanics
someone who can keep daily records and balance sheets
did I say he could leap tall buildings in a single bound!

my role would be marketing, negotiating with customers, creating an
itinerary, coordinating on the road activities, and PR activities - I
would provide daily updates to the customers and to the driver via email
and phone

what do I offer in return?

the driver would own a part of TravelWithRonK
he would inherit a word of mouth reputation for service
he would have the opportunity to eventually purchase TravelWithRonK
he would see lots of beautiful scenery
he would meets lots of unique people
his name would become known across the small livestock world
he would have lots of tax deductible expenses
he would profit share with me

if you think you might be this 'superman' then please respond to my
private email address rkee...@realtime.net - try to address briefly each
of the driver points above and give me some idea of the 'type' of person
that you are - if you are planning on getting rich quick don't bother
replying - you will earn every penny of profit in this business! - but
it can be a very emotionally rewarding lifestyle!

[Blackbelly] trip update and transport plans

2010-08-13 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

the mid JUL/AUG transport trip was completed on schedule - the TX OR WA
NY NC TX loop of the entire northern half of the US went pretty much as
planned - animals were picked up and delivered according to the
itinerary - ten years of practice has my planning process pretty much
down pat!

the next trip is a PremierLimo run from TX to upstate NY to deliver some
animals going to Canada - that trip is scheduled for late AUG/early SEP
- I am full going northbound but I have room on part of the return trip
- if you have anything needing transport in the generally southwest
direction from NY toward TX please get with me ASAP!

the next coast to coast 'bus' trip is scheduled for late SEP/OCT - the
trip route is being built around a large load originating in OR going
east as far as NewEngland - I have limited space eastbound - the trip
route after the eastbound leg is open to your needs - you can be the one
to define the trip route by getting your reservation in to me ASAP!

there is a tentative coast to coast east to west limo trip that is being
discussed right now - it might occur during early SEP - if you have a
need for westbound NY to WA transport or WA to TX transport please get
with me (those are the end points - your transport could be anywhere
along or close to the line between the end points)

long range plans include some down time for me and the equipment - the
winter 'salt' has taken its toll on the underside of the van/RV so it
will be receiving a bumper to bumper rebuild and upgrade - the new
'stretch' white van will be getting many enhancements to turn it into a
high performance long range limo trailer tow vehicle and backup tow
vehicle for the large trailer - the limo trailer is ready to go - the
big trailer could use some time in the repair shop getting aluminum
repairs accomplished

*** if you are not a member of my Yahoo TravelWithRonK group now is the
time to join! - my trip schedule over the next few months is going to be
hectic - I will not have time to post weekly schedules to all the groups
that I normally advertise on - I will be posting daily updates to
TravelWithRonK when I am on the road - so if you have even a tentative
need for transport in 2010 the only place to keep alert to rapidly
changing schedules is on TravelWithRonK ***

my trip routes are determined by riders with reservations -
the earlier you make reservations the more likely I am to
use your transport to 'define' my route - waiting too late
may mean that I am not able to make the necessary zig zags
to pick up/drop off your animals

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

if there are timing restrictions or complications (export)
please inform me of your needs and schedules

[Blackbelly] USDA restrictive working dog transport regulations

2010-08-12 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

here is the footer that I am attaching to all email sent from my
location - it is self explanatory - with enough grass roots pressure
maybe we can get the government zombies to recognize that their airline
pet transport Animal Welfare 'bible' does not cover the topic of working
livestock dogs - these are unique animals that have one goal in life -
to live with and protect their herd - so let's try to force the USDA to
recognize that these special animals deserve special attention

since I have been forced to stop transport of LGDs I have had to turn
down a dozen requests to transport LGDs - that is a dozen herds that
don't have the protection from predators that they need and deserve!

please feel free to crosspost this information to any group that you
think will have members who are uncomfortable with the USDA interfering
with our private lives - in other words crosspost to EVERY group that
you belong to - also make sure that your local USDA inspector gets at
least a dozen copies of your and your friends comments about government
intervention into areas where experienced animal handlers are more
knowledgable about animal care than any 'politician' law writer who put
a few paragraphs into a congressional bill

[Blackbelly] clarification - USDA restrictive working dog transport regulations

2010-08-12 Thread Ron Keener
these regulations come from the Animal Welfare Act - this act was
intended to provide guidelines for the airline industry in the transport
of fragile pets - the act basically specifies that pets must be
transported in carriers at temperatures between 45 and 85 degrees

in my case the USDA is extending these regulations to include single
digit acclimated adult Kangal (Anatolian) LGDs being transported with
their goat herd in my specially designed trailer - during the winter
trip (DEC 2009) the goats and dogs were transported from Michigan to
Oregon across an intense arctic cold air bubble in Montana - the goats
and dogs traveled fine and arrived in Oregon fine with no effects from
the cold temperatures

during the meetings with USDA inspectors I specifically asked about vet
issued 'acclimation exemptions' as part of the interstate vet inspection
forms - I was told that those exemptions do not modify the law and have
absolutely no bearing on compliance with the law - in other words they
are meaningless!

don't have the protection from predators that they need and deserve!

please feel free to crosspost this information to any group that you
think will have members who are uncomfortable with the USDA interfering
with our private lives - in other words crosspost to EVERY group that
you belong to - also make sure that your local USDA inspector gets at
least a dozen copies of your and your friends comments about government
intervention into areas where experienced animal handlers are more
knowledgable about animal care than any 'politician' law writer who put
a few paragraphs into a congressional bill

Thanks to restrictive USDA regulations I no longer transport dogs!
Please let your local USDA inspector know how stupid it is to apply
'pet' transport regulations to climate acclimated working dogs!
With enough pressure maybe we can get the government morons to
recognize the difference between lap pets and working livestock dogs
and that working dogs transport best in the trailer with the livestock
we expect them to protect with their lives!
