I whole heartedly agree with both of you!! You would think the intelligence
level of the members of this list could understand this reflector IS NOT the
place to post off-topic subjects, but it doesn't seem to matter to those who
are inclined to post look at ME emails here. Eric recently re-posted
suggestion, create email filter for you email client, so that all
messages to the list are sent to the trash, *EXCEPT* ones from
*@elecraft.com

I use the reflector without emails. No sorting, no filters, no clogged
mailbox. I check the list on-line and only click on what holds interest
to me. In general, if it doesn't involve the K-Line - I have no interest
and just scroll past. Very easy - no technology involved!

This morning with the S0 on the K3 ( with antenna disconnected) the P3 is
displaying a level about 7 db below the S0 level.
With antenna connected the K3 shows S7 while the P3 level on the screen is
slightly below S0.
What happened and how
There's an explanation of the reasons for this in the P3 Owner's Manual
in the How to set up and Interpret the P3 Display section. Start
reading where it says, You would expect the S meter on the K3 and the
signal on the P3 display to indicate the same level...

I had a similar problem just running a couple of devices off the USB ports
of my small Dell Desktop. The output voltage gets loaded down with a few
devices on the USB port. The solution was to purchase a USB expander with
its own wall wart power supply.

USB was designed to handle hundreds of applications. USB has nothing to do with
RS232 com ports. The bridge is made in the driver software that tells the USB
to behave as if it were a RS232 device. I suspect you have conflicting drivers.

the software is extremely user-friendly. You can download the software and run

I run 9 USB devices, three on a hub and 8 serial ports of a usb to serial port
hub. In addition I have a number of virtual serial ports as well. Th only thing
that's difficult is remembering what is connected to what!

Opinions on antennas are connected with a lot of myths and it works for
me opinions. You mmight want to read the Antenna and Transmission Line
article on my website www.w3fpr.com. It is not filled with formulas and
math, but can give you some idea of antenna system behavior.
