I have a build issue with chromium on one machine but not the other.
The version I'm trying to build is www-client/chromium-32.0.1700.19
but the problem occurs on the current stable version also (31.0.1650.57).

That's what I did. But I tend to switch browsers too often (chromium and
Firefox).
Firefox has a pdf.js addon, doesn't work reliably many times.

With chromium recompiled with the 'system-ffmpeg' USE flag disabled, I
can now play imdb.com videos without any trouble.
The Arch Linux PKGBUILD for chromium has this system library disabled
as well. See

since a few days Chromium is broken here. Even deleting
~/.config/chromium I get this error message immediately after Chromium
comes up.
I have tried the version 88.0.4324.150 , 89.0.4389.40 and 90.0.4412.3
What might be the reason? Am I the only one with this problem?

Does chromium even recognize flash? Go to chrome://flash, it should display the
current flash version under "Flash Plugin".
About the YouTube thing:
Are you sure that it doesn't use its HTML5 player? You can to go
youtube.com/html5 to check that.

my system is gentoo amd64, kde 4.3, and have recently updated. last
time i emerged chromium and it works fine. but after updated the
world, my chromium cannot start up. it reports segment fault.
any idea why this happen?

Nothing compares to Chromium (browser) in terms of compilation times. On
my system with 12 core threads it takes about 8 hours to compile - which
is 4 times longer than 10 years ago with 2 core threads ;)
Libreoffice takes a few hours, but less than half of chromium. Nothing
gets close
Sorry, should've tried it myself before answering. I'm using Chromium
58.0.3029.110 ( 64 bit though ) built with cups,gconf,pulseaudio and it works
for me ( both with extensions enabled and without any )
