Happy New Year!
I have been subscribing to Arachne for about 8 months now, and this is the
first mention I have seen of commemorative bobbins - when are these
available, and could I get one for 2005 (as that is when I started
subscribing) even though it is 2006 now?

Happy New Year, everyone!
Does anyone know whether any of the UK lace suppliers is/will be stocking
Volumes III and IV?
I had a cheque from my MIL for Christmas which would just about buy me the
pair (thus ensuring I spent the rest of the year feeling appropriately
grateful to her!), but don't
Oh!, Thank you Treena for that wonderful fan site. What a splendid
work of art. It really is 'thinking outside the box' as far as
construction and design are concerned and all the better for it. Not
for everyone perhaps but wonderful that someone can work like this.
Happy new year to All
Dear Lacefriends,
A Happy New Year to you all.
Just to let you know how lucky I am to have finished my part of lace
for Linda's diploma-dress. So she have to sew the whole thing together
and do the documentation and than she will get her Design-diploma. Uff

Hello Laura
Below is an old 'recipe' for a parchment softener, it came from one of the
old lacemakers, though I haven't used it myself.
I believe the neatsfoot oil is available from a saddler (or anyone working

This looks like a row of crochet or a row of buttonhole stitches has been

Arachne was born April 12, 1995.
The Anniversary Bobbins have been made by different
people. The records I find in my computer show the
following:
1996 Made by JoAnn Pruitt
Hi Beth and Alice,
I just checked my bobbins and I have the following:
1996 Margaret Wall (UK)
1997 Chris Parsons (UK)
1998 Chris Parsons (UK)
Then there seems to be a break (or else they are hiding
on a UFO) Until last years 10th anniversary one from
Pat Hallam.
Hope that fills in some holes
Thank you to all the Gentle Spiders who supplied me with the info! I took
two rolls of film (yes, film) this morning of my bobbins, grouped by
makers, pairs, whatever, and photographed the finished lace piece. Once I
get email notification that my film has been developed I can post the lace

Hi All,
I was googling yesterday looking for some wreath boxes, and there are a
few places that sell a variety via the web. DH bought me 2 big plastic
ones in Lowes, but there are ones that I saw on the web that are for
shipping and others of corrugated plastic for storing them. I just
googled

i'm intereseted in all of it, but the lace guild i joined was the IOLI

This year I am going to pamper myself. I can't be more specific because my
needs may change from day to day. I may need to take a break and see a
movie, or read a good book. Just whatever I feel I need at the moment.
