What I had in mind is something different. Sorry for not having
explained in a more accurate manner before. The current line breaking
(without hyphenation) in \hyphenatedurl is fine for me.
The issue is that there are some urls that contain long words inside.
Here is one of them

side--effect. But we do support nested underlining.
This commant is wrong, right? Hyphenation is supported.

Would be do-able I guess (LuaTex can access dabatases), only problem is
you have to convert al these .bib files into the database format.
But don't know if anyone has thought about implementing Bibtex as a database.
