Hi Again Everyone...

I have a new, and very significant issue with my Outlook 2000 program. Sorry
to be such a pain to the group, but my expertise in Computer
Software/Hardware is only enough to be dangerous.

I just had a motherboard failure in my main computer which rendered the
computer useless. Lucky for me I had just done a system backup earlier in
the week. So, had to go out and get a new motherboard, install it and
restore from my backup. Backup was made by Retrospect HD. Came to find out
that the restore would not work because it was made on a different hardware
configuration. Wonderful! Ok, so I set about re-installing all of my
required programs. QuickBooks 2000 Pro didn't re-install because it needed
an activation number. So called Intuit Support, somewhere in India, and
basically got laughed at and told to buy new version, but new version would
not import data from my older version. After passing on my displeasure I
hung up. I then remembered that I had this problem once before, and thanks
to Donk, was able to get to get an older restore to work.

Now, for my latest catastrophe. I can't seem to be able to restore my
Address Book in Outlook. I was able to restore the emails and rules feature
however. I have tried to copy various files from a duplicate C-Drive folder
to the Outlook Directory found under the Old Admin account, docs and
settings, admin, app data, Microsoft, outlook file to no avail. I have been
told that the address book is a (User).PAB file. I have copied the one found
into the new user account file with the other files. I renamed the original
file (User)-PAB.Bak. Nothing works. Went to the Microsoft website, searched
and found an article about copying an address book, but many of the paths
indicated do not appear in my installation. The technical info is...

O/S: XP Home, SP3
PROGRAM: Office 2000

Anyone offer some direction before I loose all of my hair and have a stroke?

Thanks...

Mark
