All of personnel policies are in our Employee Handbook, which are on our Intranet. I will attach them here. Attachments include:
1. Employee Benefits policy - I wrote this policy last year when we needed a central place to house all of benefits (leave, sick, service awards, medical, dental, etc). If anyone wants to see a full policy that they cannot click on from the Benefits policy, please contact me. 2. Leave Accounting Procedures 3. Vacation Leave & Faculty Break Days 4. Community Service Leave Lessons learned: We are in the process of converting our policies into our new template. See above Benefits and Leave Accounting policies. It is very hard to research personnel policies and in the process of converting the policies, we are trying to update the personnel policies and SOMEHOW they keep getting stuck along the way. Even when people say researching and updating the policy is their priority - it's not and it gets put on the back burner so I did all of the research for the benefits policy myself (even though I am not in HR). It got done a lot faster that way. I was able to send them a draft with benefits that were red-lined that were outdated and questions already in there to speed the process up. I've updated personnel and non-personnel policies and the personnel policies take the longest - even when they are cut and dry. Also, I spoke with our HR VP ahead of time about whether we could eliminate our Employee Handbook hardcopy a few years ago (and our General Counsel) to make sure there were no reasons we actually needed it. I was assured we didn't and we have been running an electronic handbook for the past few years, but I still get questions every few months "Why don't we have a hardcopy of the Employee Handbook". For some reason people still want to hold on to a copy of personnel policies. It's frustrating to keep trying to convince people it's a waste of time to update policies on the web and in print (if there is not a legal reason for both).
